Charge 3 drains quickly after most recent update

fitbit charge 3 has suddenly started going dead in the middle of the night.

 

previously used to last about a week however today I've charged it to 100% and after approximately 2 hours I am down to 88%

 

please respond with new and up to date answer.

Have already checked previous posts noting the same issue with a solution from 2018 for a Fitbit Blaze which DOES NOT WORK.

Update: It is now 6 hours later...and my Charge 3 is at 5% (and I'll I've been doing is working in my home office (no text messages coming in, no workouts)
