Charge 3 erratic HR reading caused Cardio Fitness Level to change drastically

Funny thing happened one day. My Fitbit Charge 3 was sitting around one day and the little lights on the back were flickering, which isn't too unusual. Then I checked my Fitbit app, and in the Heart Rate tab it recorded these crazy numbers:

4 hr 14 min (Peak)

1 hr 56 min (Cardio)

4 hr 26 min (Fat Burn)

The Peak numbers went all the way up to 192bpm, which i never reach as I am 49 years old and I usually max much lower. This all happened over the course of a day while the device did not move from its place on the kitchen counter.

I guess this freaked out the app, as my Resting HR went up to 79 bpm and it is usually sits around 61-64 bpm.   And my Cardio Fitness Score range went down to 43-47 (good to very good) when it was always around 49-53 (very good to excellent).

Does anyone know how to reset this. Does anyone know how to take out this one day's erratic reading, so i can get my regular readings back?

Thanks.

@elzocalo Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with this. Is this still happening? I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.  Regarding your data, you will need to wait until correct data is saved in the following days or weeks so it is updated on your account.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Alvaro,

Thanks for the tips...but my main issue here is that my app (Android on Google Pixel 2) has this poor and totally inaccurate heart rate data on it from the "freak out" i described in my original post above. I was not even wearing my Fitbit when it happened. And this inaccurate heart rate data has thrown off my Resting Heart Rate and my Cardio Fitness Score.  So I need to remove all my heart rate data from that day, January 2, 2021.

Do anyone know how i can do this?

Thank you.
