Charge 3 exercises stopped on its own

Yesterday, during a Weights exercise, the tracker "stopped" the exercise on its own. (?!)

One moment it was working, the next time I flicked my wrist to check my HR, it was back to the regular clock face without me ever ending the exercise explicitly.

I immediately started the exercise again and continued working out. When I checked the Fitbit app afterwards, it had logged my first exercise as if I had ended it myself, and the second one (again a Weights exercise), as if it was a run / bike exercise, since it shows a pace and distance. (?!?!)

This issue, couple with a myriad more I encountered over the last few days, made me put the tracker in the drawer. I'm now back on my trusted Charge 2. I will wait for a week or two, and if these issues are not fixed in a software update, I'm shipping this half-baked product back. This is unacceptable from a major brand like Fitbit. Embarrassing.

Not so ... mapping stops and this is not acceptable.  Just retired my fairly new Fitbit in favor of a Garmin Fenix 6 Plus.  Garmin does what Fitbit does not ... sadly, I have had it with Fitbit.

Agreed. Mine turned out to be nothing more than a very expensive step-tracker. I bought one for me and one for my wife - huge mistake. After fighting with this thing for many months. It doesn't do ANYTHING it's supposed to do reliably - both of my wife and I have the same issues.

  • Exercise Tracking: Fail. I can't count on it to track exercise reliably (even if I do a restart right before the exercise) it's got a failure rate of about 25%.
  • Heart Rate Tracking: Fail. It can be all over the place, I've seen it show 150 bpm while my actual HR was 60.
  • Background Sync: Fail. That works about half the time even with the app running in the background. Lots of times I have to reboot the device to get it to sync.

I've gone back to just using the Endomondo app to track my runs because it never quits on me and it's free... imagine that, a free app works while a well-funded Fitbit product doesn't do squat.

I replaced my charge 3 thinking it was the device that was faulty. The new one was going well but now it’s started having issues with stopping exercises well before I intend to do it myself. Really isn’t helping me keep track of my exercise regime for weightloss. 😞

I decided to abandon fitbit after my original Charge 3 and the one they replaced under warranty had the same problem. I tried Samsung and Garmin, but returned them both because I found their apps not nearly as good as fitbit. I gave fitbit a second chance and bought a Versa 2. It does not have the Charge 3 problem, and I like it much better. Although, it pained me to give them my business again, I’m much happier now.

I have the same issue, last three days the exercise tracker is just going crazy. This is obviously a problem everyone is having as I've tried the reset, reboot and the data clear too. Please keep us updated.

That happening to me, on the first time  I think I forgot to start tracking but this seems like a bug. Is there any fix of this?
