Charge 3 getting battery low notification at 50%

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just received a text and email that my charge 3 battery was low but the charge 3 showed 50 per cent and the app said medium.  What level should the charge 3 be at when you recharge the watch

It's been doing that on my inspire HR since the last update. I'm ignoring it for now - hopefully the next update they'll fix what they broke last update.

Kennyfar, this just happened to me too.  I'm trusting what the watch says, 46%. I've never gotten a low battery email/notification before for the Charge 3, which I've had since Oct 7.  Seems to be a glitch. I usually just need to recharge on the weekend, though it has been going a bit quicker lately. Still, 46% should not prompt a notification.

I haven't had an update for a long time, 3's been working well. I think this glitch is on Fitbit's end.

Hi all

I keep getting a battery low notification at 50% or below. Is there a way to change this?

Thanks

Not the firmware on the fitbit itself, but since the software was last updated on my phone.

Ah, OK. I never know when my app is updated. It's on 2.95 (839) which it says is the latest.

I just chatted with Fitbit and was told that it's normal to get a notification to recharge the battery at 50 percent.

Yet another weird problem. The battery seems to be fine, as in its not draining too fast or anything. However, just a couple of minutes back I get a mail and a notification on the device as well, that battery level is low. To my surprise, it shows 50%!IMAG0459.jpg

I've got the same issue - battery is 50% but the app has just notified and emailed me saying it's low... I've also had problems syncing correctly since yesterday (android device).

This is very odd! Both my husband and I have Charge 3's and we both have been told that our 3's need charging when reading a 50% charge . Conclusion - must be that it is a Fitbit software glitch that is causing this and not (hopefully) a problem with our 3's. We will wait for the usual low reading before charging fully and then wait to see if it happens again.

It used to be 15%. 50% is a ridiculously high level to set it and very unlikely.

Hello @B3RRRT, thanks for stopping by! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I was wondering if this is the first time you get the low battery notification when your Charge 3 is at 50%?

Your Charge 3 should notify you with a battery low message when it's at 18%, this is expected behavior, it indicates that you have 1 day of battery life yet. You should be able to dismiss it by pressing the button.

However, since yours it notifying you at 50% I'd recommend to restart your Charge 3 and reset the notifications alerts for battery low (turn them off/on). For more information, see: How do I choose which alerts Fitbit sends me?

Also note that if you're seeing a different battery level on your tracker and Fitbit app, this may be due to the last time you synced. The battery icon on your Fitbit app updates the level every time you sync and if you haven't synced yet the app will remain a battery low percentage. That can be another reason of the message you got.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I agree. I never got the notification before because I always recharged it when it was between 20 and 30 per cent. That got me a week.

I wonder if Fitbit has learned that the battery wears out quicker if it runs down below 50 percent.

@MarreFitbit  and @TAMERZ  -

I also received the 50% warning the other day and then no warning until approximately 18 - 20% yesterday afternoon. I didn't check to see the exact level that time, but it was at 17% later in the day, so 18% sounds about right.

Now if we could only get the battery level to my iPhone's notification screen like my bluetooth headphones. It would be very convenient to have the phone, headphones, another device my company uses and the Charge 3 battery levels shown in one glance.

In another thread a Moderator stated that 18% was the trigger. I received one at 50% the other day and then one somewhere between 17 and 20% yesterday - so probably 18%.
