Charge 3 has a blank screen and overheats

My Charge 3, which is just out of warranty, will not charge and over heats when connected to the charger. Its screen won't display either. What can be done about this issue.

I'm experiencing the same problem - charge 3 special edition.  Today I noticed a blank screen. Popped it on my charger as it is my standard troubleshooting method- it didn't reset despite having my finger in the usual spot for the required length of time. (it was around 60% charge according to my cellfone).   30-45min later I check on it...the watch is blazing hot.

I cool it off try a 2nd time - there was a white bar that was filling in like booting up with vibrations roughly 1x every second the bar never reaches the other side and crashes.  eventually it stopped the "boot cycle" and the white hollow bar remains but frozen.  I notice the watch gets hot a second time I pull it off the charger - total time around 5 mins.  I hope it isn't dead.  Expensive device if it only lasts around 1 year
