Charge 3 has a gray face and not tracking steps or workout

I charged my charge 3 today.  When i took it off charger the screen was gray.  I also noticed it only gave me 5 steps for today.  It did not track my workout either.    I tried to restart and also updated it in app store.  Nothing seems to be working.   I've only had this device 6 months.
