Hi @Winniepooh, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 3 has black lines across. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi @Winniepooh, thank you for getting back and trying to change the clock face.

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues. Please try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again and see if the black lines disappear from the screen.

Let me know how it goes.

I JuanJoFitbit,

I have the same issue as @Winniepooh, where my screen is dark. I changed my clock face as well as tried the charging cable and pressing the button for greater than 15 seconds.

I only felt 1 vibration during the 15 seconds. While the device charges, I cannot get the screen to become visible.

Please help.

Thanks

I have these same problems and have tried the solutions you have suggested!  I can't even read the time on my clock face (which IS a Fitbit one)!  Please advise us as to what should be done next!

Mine is completely blank as well... Started of with black lines down the sides and then the pixels started to disappear and now the whole screen is black...  No way of fixing this at all... So disappointing for the cost of these things is not cheap but from what I can see by posts from many many other people the fitbit itself is very cheap and very expensive for the amount of time they last... 😞

As I’ve said on other posts, this is exactly what has happened to me. I have done everything Support has suggested to other people - changed clockface several times and tried resetting while it is recharging (though I don’t always get the correct number of vibrations). But nothing is happening and the lines are getting more numerous.

Hi Juan! I'm having the same problem. It started with 2 stripes and now I have 4. Also when I'm outside I can´t see the information on the screen, it seems like the light is too weak. Already tried the long restart and changed the clock face but the problem is still there. Can you please help? Thanks in advance!

Hi JuanJoFitbit,

Several of us have been waiting for you to respond to our comments that trying the suggestions you provided do not work. My question is, are our Charge 3's able to be fixed or not?

My next communication is going to your company staff saying that I do not trust Fitbit, the product works for 1 year and then does not work and we have not received a valid workaround.

All I want is my Fitbit Charge 3 to work.

I am having this problem as well. Started off with one black line, then two, now eight black lines across the display. I have changed the clock face and performed long restart as described above with no luck. It is extremely hard to read and very frustrating! Please help!

I am on my second Fitbit Charge 3 and am also having an issue with lines across the screen. My last Charge 3 had the same issue and Fitbit sent me a replacement free of charge 3 months ago. Now the replacement also has lines, which is a little ridiculous for only being 3 months old. I have yet to own a Fitbit that I haven't had issues with and will likely switch to a different company at this rate. They're great when they work but the troubleshooting aspect of them and these lines has me ready to leave them behind.

I also have this issue. Tried everything here, however the situation appears to be getting worse rather than better...

Same as mine lasted 16 months

Lines across screen then

No heart rate then

No screen

Unable to do anything with it. On charge if you hold the button on the side it just vibrates and will not do anything else.

I have the same issue, a few black lines running left to right across the top of my screen. I am using a Fitbit clockface and changing it to a different one doesn't help. And I have tried the long restart several times and it does nothing to change the black lines. I have only had my charge 3 since Feb 27, and the lines began to appear in the last 2 or 3 months.
