Started with one line a few weeks ago, have done the reset, changed clock face, charged it fully, and it's actually got worse,I now have about 7 lines, it wont let me set my weight, I currently weigh 6lbs according to my fitbit!! Just checking my charge now and have noticed lots of grey lines going partially across the screen, they're new, like 5 minutes new, very dissapointing.

A black line has appeared on my display.  I have changed the display using the Fitbit app, and rebooted using the charging cable. The black line is still in the same place. Looking through this thread, this issue will only progress to an unreadable display.  I have attempted to use the Fitbit app to contact Support, but can't get to Live Chat on my Android tablet. I don't use Twitter, so prefer email, but that option is not presented anywhere.

This Charge 3 is 6 months old.  My partner's Charge 3 is 5 months old, but not encountering this issue (yet).

How do I contact Support directly?

I'm also having issues contacting them, as I don't use Twitter and can't find an email address but there is a contact no 0800 069 8505,  I've not rang them yet as I'm usually working during their contact times.Sent from Samsung tablet.

Hello there. I’m experiencing the same issue, however it appears that despite a number of others who are in the same boat, it appears that Fitbit have not provided a viable solution which is disappointing. I have one line towards the top of the screen and can only put it down to a faulty update. Any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated!

Hi JuanJoFitbit and everyone having this issue - I have the same problem. Got this tracker in April and a few weeks ago the lines started... Seem like I'm getting more lines, and I also feel like the screen is very dim outside like another user mentioned. Has anyone solved this? I've done the clock face and long reset with no change.

People in the EU have TWO YEARS to claim warranty.

My tracker was 16 months old. Started with the black line then died completely no green light would not reset. Called Fitbit ready for a fight over the quality of their products and whilst on hold I thumbed through the warranty book and to my surprise it says if you are in the EU your warranty is TWO YEARS not One. No battle they sent me a return label and told me i will get a replacement within the week. No messing around trying to get me to try it in a cradle or resetting it. It was an easy experience. I don't understand why they have two warranty periods for different parts of the world , maybe it takes into account how we always pay more for the same goods. $100 we end up paying £150 which in the past was way more than a $100. Anyhow bonus new fitbit.

I bought a Charge 3 earlier this year. Over the past month or two, I am seeing black lines across the screen where the battery recharge image flashes. It is getting progressively worse. I am also getting lines toward the bottom of the face. I have reset and tried different clock faces, but nothing seems to make them go away.

Hi JuanJo Fitbit, I posted just over a month ago. My Fitbit Charge 3 now has 3 single lines as opposed to 1 single line, which was the case at the time, going across the top of the screen. It is clear that the problem has got progressively worse and that changing the clock face, on multiple occasions, and restarting the device does not fix this issue. It is unfair that you and your organisation put such instructions out to your customers knowing very well it will not resolve anything.

What are our next steps? Or do you plan to either ignore me or post a pathetic general reply full of explanation marks, stating how sorry you are and pretending you actually care?

Sadly, the reality is this such lines will not go away no matter what Fitbit say!

I got tired of only getting notifications of more people having these issues with the same lack of results I encountered...

So I devised my own solution:

  1. Took off my overpriced Fitbit
  2. Dropped it into my e-cycling box
  3. Began using a WYZE band

A company that slaps a "best answer," marks the problem solved when it clearly isn't, and ignores further input does not deserve my loyalty.

I reported this weeks ago and received the normal platitudes. It wasn’t till I said I was leaving fitbit and moving to Apple that they started to take me seriously. I have now got an Apple Watch 6 which syncs to my phone and MacBook with no problem. Much more user friendly snd gives me everything I want. Fitbit is brilliant while it’s working but their customer services sucks.

my husband went through 3 fitbits charge 3 in a year and after the yar was up it started with the lines and then went blank.. I managed to get through the year with mine but mine is also black and nothing can be seen on the screen what so ever..

did all the resets and steps they provided and nothing works.. At the cost of these fitbits you would think they would last longer than a year... They obviously have a problem by all the comments. So disappointed with this product...

I'm having the same issues as all the others on here, with missing pixel black lines across a dimmer screen, making it hard to use or see key information. Had my Charge 3 HR just over a year (inevitably ... and had a charge 2 that failed at 14 months previously).  Its almost as though the sealing doesn't work and moisture has got in - as this used to happen on old LCD/Screen watches that leaked.

Using a Fitbit clock (and changed them - no difference.

Tried the reboot and long restart.  Makes no difference.  These fitbit screens are not working properly and the product doesn't seem to be durable in the long-term, which is such a shame, as they are ace when working and the app is a clear and simple one. But this cannot be right for the money and clearly isn't a unique problem?
