Charge 3 heart rate information too high

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, the heart rate on my charge 3 seems to have gone a bit mad today! My usual resting h/r is around 53bpm but all through the day it has been gradually increasing up to 158!! And I’m doing no exercise or activity at all! It has therefore recorded 3hrs plus in fat burn, 2hrs plus in cardio and 25 mins at peak which is wrong as I have had a sedentary day today. I have tried cleaning the charge 3 which has helped a little but it’s still not right. Please advise, thanks

Welcome to the Community Forums @Jillster103!  Thanks so much for cleaning the Charge 3 to fix the issue with the heart rate.

If you are having problems with your heart rate information, I recommend taking a look at this article, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

Also, from your Tracker please go to Settings > Heart rate and follow these steps:

- Turn the heart rate off

- Restart your device once again

- Turn the heart rate back on

I've seen you contacted our Support Team after posting here and that they have helped you with this. Please follow the tips and recommendations provided by them and reply back to your case about the outcome. They will be more than glad to continue assisting you if needed.

Let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist you in the meantime.

Thanks for getting back to me, I was getting some help from the support team through the live chat but unfortunately the connection was lost part way through. We performed a long reset on the fit bit, turned the heart rate monitor off and on a couple of times at which point the chat died, I put the Fitbit back on but it’s still not right, when I looked at my heart rate when I woke up it read 147!!! Also it’s not tracking my sleep properly - I’m not getting the full analysis any more. So I’ve taken it off and the red light at the back is permanently on, as previously. I thought the support team might have tried to get back in touch with me but nothing so far.
Hope you can help
Thanks
Jill

Hello !
I have the same issue with my fitbit charge 3 .. about 3-4 days Heart Monitor at some times is going up.
I flowed your article, Clear Data, Reset .. after that .. I was happy is working back.

I check accuracy with Samsung S9 Heart Pulse.

But after a few hours again the Charge Heart Rate is going high just looking at them. every second rise up 3-4 units .. and goes up unitl 155-173..

I moved in different places on hand, more tight or relaxed, change hand. clean the back of charge 3 ..

Just after reset .. is working 1-2 hours and after that is starting to rise..

Is there any software issue or hardware ? A new firmware update soon ?

Regards,

but their solution with 15 sec reset .. doesn't solved my problem. 😞

I need a Warranty Order Number to send my Charger to the service center..

This article offers nothing in the order of solving a over high heart rate. My doctor is about to tell me not to wear this anymore since my waking heart rate today was 70 and it said 100! I’m starting to struggle to believe in the effectiveness of its monitoring. Please offer so affective advice or my next wearable will be from another company I have worn a Fitbit since 2012 and don’t want to switch but I will if the things I use it for don’t work.

After FitBit had send other  new device,

I had no problem with heart rate monitoring.

I think they know about this bug, or problem and changhed without questions in a week with DHL.

Put a ticket on site for service.
