Charge 3 heart rate spikes while not being worn

Hi! I have a charge 3, actually it's my second one because the first one had to be replaced due to this same issue. I take it off while I shower or take a bath and I noticed that the heart rate would go up to 200 while it was just sitting there. Fitbit sent me a replacement and I've only had this one for less than a month. Last night it happened with this one! I was brushing my hair out and glanced at it (it was sitting on the side of the sink) and the heart rate read 204! I don't get it wet and the only exercises I do with it on are walking and yoga. Has anyone else had this issue?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Linda_Y.

I am sorry to hear your Charge 3 is showing heart rate while not being worn. Thanks for the details shared, I understand how you are feeling as you've experienced the same issue with your original tracker, I am glad to assist you. I recommend trying the following:

1. On your device, open the Settings app > Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting Off and sync.

2. Switch HR setting to On and sync.

3. Restart your tracker: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

For more information about tracking heart rate on your device, see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.
