Just bought a Charge 3 just a few days ago. From the first day I noticed that the floor count is way off. On the first day I took a trip and drove about 500 miles and my Charge 3 counted 8 floors despite the fact that I did not climb any stairs (step count was certainly off as well). Today I walked / ran 5K and it registered that I climbed 16 floors!
I bought the Charge 3 because of this feature but I am starting to regret that I didn't go for a cheaper model. Any ideas of what might be causing this?

Sigh. Thanks Night_shift.

I have the same issue. My floor count averaged around 25 a day earlier (which is also too high), but the last two months have skyrocketed up to 80 floors a day. I have not changed my daily routine. Yesterday I was home all day, 55 floors...
Another thing that I have noticed is that there is no floor counter on any of the clock faces for Charge3. Coincidence? I think not.

I was hoping with the latest update to Charge 3 that it included a fix for the inaccurate floor counts but it did not.
This morning I have climbed 2 flights of stairs and it's showing 12 flights. It's sunny and we have little to no wind so I'm not sure what the issue is.

My floor counte tend to be absurdly high or recording none at all, my barn stable is downstairs, steep stairway about 15 feet. Today I climbed those stairs 6 times already, but according to charge 3 there has been no stair climbing at all today. Yet Thursday I climbed 87 stairs. Friday was 4, but Wednesday was again 0. No rhyme or reason at all.

I’ve had my charge 3 since it first came out and I have had a 10-60 ‘floors climbed’ error since day 1! Can this not be fixed? If not, can you at least create a quick way to delete floors climbed from the dashboard!

My Charge 3 tells me I have climbed 2 floors just by getting out of bed! This is the second Charge 3 I've had because the first one did exactly the same. It is totally unreliable.
I cannot believe the unresponsiveness from Fitbit. The incredible part are their statements on their website under About Us and Mission. Check it out. It includes “We design products...that fit seamlessly into your life so you can achieve your health and fitness goals...”
There's nothing seamless or reliable about the Charge 3 ( nor the constantly breaking strap on the Charge 2) that helps me achieve my goals.
Another classic corporate that has all the jargon but doesn’t deliver what it promises and apparently doesn’t care.

Fitbit has just released a new look for the app (mine is the iOS).
It still didn't do anything to fix the stairs count.
I couldn't find the short-cut to the silent alarms, so helpful on the previous version.

I recently worked very hard throughout the course of one day and achieved 30k steps while doing plenty of yard work.
Even though I didn't climb 1 floor - I got a "Rollercoaster badge" for being the first person to reach 125 floors...
This is a BUG... FITBIT NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!

Oh Yeah! But You know, I am kinda tired with this. I woke up this morning with 6 floors climbed. Now I have done 29. I live in an apartment, isolated because of the COVID-29. Yesterday I climbed 111 floors, without leaving home. My average on the past few weeks, while stranded is around 40 floors climbed everyday!
This is a bad joke form Fitbit. I spoke with customer care and they told me to reset the thing. Wich I did, but didn't change a bit. This is not a simple bug, this is a disrespectful monstrous intergalactic BUG!

I have been having the same issue for a while now. I have had more problems with charge 3 and customer support has been no help at all. When I had change 2 I had no issues and the customer support was amazing. Not sure what happened but they offer no help for the issues. All I get is the run around 😞 very disappointed and now looking to get something else besides fitbit.

I live in a condo so I don't go up and down stairs and I have days where my charge 3 show I climbed 70 floor. How is that possible. Wish Customer support was helpful. When I had issues with my charge 2 the store where I purchase from replaced with no problem but unfortunately where I bought charge 3 they won't replace it.

@AlejandraFitbit
Two years and 50 Relies later, and Fitbit doesnt care to do anything? just provide a useless solution "to delete floors by changing them to driving?"
This does not even come close to the Customer service fitbit "Claims" they have.

Yes it's really poor. Fitbit makes no attempt to solve the problem and the workaround means you would lose the lognof activity as well as the erroneous floors (NB: I just climbed 50 floors whilst having a 5km run around my absolutely flat local park). Sick of Fitbit, their faulty product, and their poor customer service.

No more issues with floors count.
fitbit just got rid of it.
I purchased a new Charge 5. It doesn’t count floors climbing at all. Gone.

That's a good thing. Floor counts are laughable. Today I have climbed 2 flights of stairs and my Charge 4 claims I climbed 27 and that number will climb as the day goes on.
