Charge 3 is constantly vibrating and screen going on and off

All of a sudden the Fitbit keeps vibrating then the screen keeps switching between click face and the notification screen. Had to take it off. The charge is at 42% so it’s not battery life.

You might try giving it a good drying, then try a reset, and then going
forward (if this works for you) be careful of getting your tracker too wet,
even heavy sweat. I think a seal may have failed and may be the cause of
all the many trackers having this problem?? Maybe.

I had the same problem. Twice.
The first time(I had it for a couple of months when it started) I did all
the standard Reset and clearing recommended.
Then called the number to talk to their help line.
They tried a couple of things then decided to send a new Charge3.

About a year later, the same thing happened again.
I tried resetting, clearing, doing everything they recommended and
everything I could find online.
I fixed it by setting it out in the sun for a day or two to dry it out. It
worked fine after that..

About a year or so later it started malfunctioning again.
Nothing I did fixed it. Called the help line who tried everything I tried.
They agreed to send me a new one. That was about 3 months ago.
We'll see how long this third one lasts.

Sorry Fitbit but I have little appreciation for your dependability.
I like the options the product gives you, just not the short life cycle.

Hello there, I just had the same problem...

Vibrations every 10 seconds and screen turning on on the notification setup.

Nothing suggested in this forum managed to solve the issue.

It would be nice to be forwarded to the support without having to go through a twitter account which i don't have, thanks.

Have a good day

I am so disappointed I have literally had it 3 weeks and it has started doing this!! I have read though these replies and tried all the methods that have been stated to try and nothing is happening! So annoyed for the money you pay for them you wouldn't expect this to happen!! This is my first time having one and I'm not overly impressed this has happened!

Mine started doing a similar thing today, now it just randomly vibrates and I can't get the screen to light up at all. Tried plugging it into the charger and holding for 15 seconds and i get nothing but the same. I got it in Feb last year from a local stockist. But I'm not sure how long the warranty is. Any help would be great.

Good evening,

I was reading through this older string and saw that the vibrating/battery draining is still an issue. This started happening with my Fitbit Charge 3 that I’ve had for less than a year. Today the heart rate monitor was very inaccurate (I checked it against an O2/pulse monitor), then it just started vibrating and cycling through the clock screen and DND/sleep screen. I tried the 8-second reset and the 15-second reset to no avail. Please assist. Thank you.

Nothing worked for me and the company has no solution for this. Most they
could do is giving me discount for new device, which was not even that
great of a deal because they have Fitbit on sale once in a while and it is
almost the same price. And you can apply coupon on discounted price. So the
company is not helpful.

The same thing happened to me and it actually woke me up in the middle of the night with rapid vibrations and strong flashing. I reported the issue to Fitbit Support via chat the following morning, and they simply gave me restart instructions. I’m surprised that Fitbit does not at all appear to be concerned about this malfunction itself. I have been a bit concerned about BlueTooth radiation, albeit very low level, so I’ve decided to look for a tracker either with no radiation or with an option to turn on/off. It’s a shame. I liked my Charge 3.

I'd try drying it well, for a day or 2. Then try the reset. Possibly a
leaky seal or something. I gave up on my charge 3 and got a charge 4. My
charge 3 after sitting in a drawer awhile works again.

Hi Wilson,

Thank you for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, I think my Fitbit is beyond any tech support. Its battery keeps dying after only 2-3 hours, it switches screens on its own, and the heart rate monitor is completely inaccurate (I finally turned the heart rate tracker off, but that didn’t help either). Honestly, I’m very disappointed with the almost seemingly planned obsolescence of the Charge 3, since my AltaHR lasted almost 3 years.

I’ll contact tech support if they can give me a refund. I don’t want a replacement or a coupon, as this will just happen again from what I’m seeing out there.

Tried last 2 days. No go, just keeps vibrating & time is wrong even after smiling face.

I've got this problem as well.  I have tried all the various fixes mentioned on here, and I am now stuck with a smiley face and unable to sync with my phone.  I updated the phone app, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail.

Whilst typing this message, it has started to go haywire, flashing between the incorrect time and the DND/Sleep screen - so annoying!

Hi CaymenChris,

That’s exactly what mine does until its battery dies and I recharge it. It just keeps cycling through those two screens while vibrating. I’m sorry to say that I’ve given up on mine and am researching other brands of fitness trackers.
