Charge 3 is flipping between different screens

My wifes fitbit charge 3 is flippin between clock and DND/sleep. 

I have reset the charge 3 several times but after receiving the smile face it all goes back to changing between different screens. 

very disappointing becasue we recently bought new wristbands due to the wristbands breaking. The watch is about 15months old. 

and to add my watch is older( 18 months) and I never take it off.

Hi @David_LK, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your wife's Charge 3 since the screen it changes through screens all of a sudden. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a long restart. To do son your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again

Finally, monitor your tracker and see if the issue gets fixed.

I have had the exact same issue as David_LK. Charge 3 was vibrating randomly and flicking through the screens. After the firmware update it now just goes between time and the DND / Sleep screen. I also did the restart as you describe to no effect. The sensor lights on back of device have also stopped working. Pretty disappointing. Device is not that old.

Exactly the same with my device, happened last knight while sleeping! Charge 3 acutely woke me up randomly 

Tried all the above and other ideas on the forum without results....

Hi JuanJoFitbit,

 

I have tried this several times. Problem still occurs. Also the battery only last like 12h now. Usually we charge our clocks like once every third day.

can I send this defective unit to Fitbit for exchange?

Hi Alvaro,

 

I have sorted this out with Elgiganten where I bought it originally. Since it took so long for support here. The watch has been replaced by Elgiganten. Elgiganten really knows their way with customer satisfaction. 

what would be nice if that Fitbit could sort it out with Elgiganten so that they will get their money back for replacing my wifes charge 3 that was useless.

My wife got a brand new charge 4 instead of the broken Charge 3 she had. 

It was Elgiganten a retailer in Sweden that helped us. Thats where we bought it.

Now turns on, but back switching between clock and dnd screen.

@David_LK happy to hear that your tracker was replaced by the retailer and don't worry these arrangements are done directly between companies.

I have had the exact same issues as above! Flicking between screens then eventually jyst gone black and despite best efforts for restart have had no result .My fitbit however was only bought during our first lock down so not even a year old i am absolutely heart broken my mam bought it with her wages for returning work as a nurse of covid ward n she bought it to cheer me up as was such a hard time n cannot believe it has broken already where do i stand? Please help !

Hi David

 

I also had this issue and my Charge three was only 14 months old and I already had received a replacement band. I  contacted Fitbit through this page.  There service is oustanding, I tried all suggested methods of resetting the charge 3. Nothing worked and they replaced the Charge 3.  Have to say that when most companies will try and get out of replacing items Fitbit certainly were a pleasure to deal with.
