Charge 3 is stuck on DND

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I turned on Do not Disturb on my Charge 3 last night and this morning, I can't turn it off; every time I tap it on the second menu screen, nothing happens, it remains off.

I have checked, and that part of my screen is still functioning normally.

I have tried restarting my Charge 3, turning Bluetooth on and off and syncing but it DND still remains on.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Hammycantfly.

I am sorry to hear you can't turn off the "Do not disturb" setting on your Charge 3. Thanks for trying to resolve this, I appreciate the additional details and I am here to help. Since you've tried to restart the tracker, I recommend doing a long restart:

  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

For more information about your device's screen, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device's screen?

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

I have the same issue and with the reset option did not work.

Where can I send my fitbit charger 3 for the warranty?

I am sorry to hear that the troubleshooting instructions didn't help you resolve the issue with your device. I understand how frustrating this is for you. Before considering other options, I recommend confirming if your device's firmware is updated to the latest version: How do I update my Fitbit device?

Same problem here. It continually vibrates and defaults to DND.

Hi - I have the same problem with my Charge 3. I have just tried what you suggested, but the problem persists.

Some potentially important observations:

  • The problem started after the last Firmware update (I stopped receiving any buzz notifications: no hourly walk reminders, no buzz for WhatsApp messages, only the Silent Alarm still gets my Fitbit to buzz).
  • My Firmware Version is: 28.20001.88.11
  • When I long-press the button, my Fitbit offers 3 options (top-down):
DND (the icon is greyed-out, or dimmed, and I cannot disable this mode)
Sleep (this icon is active and I can enable/disable it at anytime)
Screen Wake (same as DND: the icon is dimmed and it ignores my tapping)
  • Other than that, everything seems to be working just as before.

Please advise... thank you!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SparrowL @dofku.

@SparrowL I am sorry to hear your Charge 3 continually vibrates and defaults to DND. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Long restart:
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

@dofku Thank you for joining the thread and sharing the additional details. You can't turn on do not disturb or screen wake and sleep mode at the same time. It seems that you have the sleep mode turned on, but if you turn it off, you should be able to tap on do not disturb or screen wake and change the settings. When the sleep mode setting is on, notifications don't cause the tracker to vibrate or the screen to turn on. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device's screen?

Keep me posted on the outcome. I'll be around if you have any questions.

I can get the progress bar to come up but it will never fully fill before being interrupted by the smiley face. I have tried about 12 times but it will not hard/long reset. And I still cannot get DND to turn off.

Update:my firmware is up to date.

Best Answer

OK, it may sound silly, but I may have discovered a solution here.

  • The SLEEP option takes precedence over DND and Screen Wake.
When Sleep is on (the icon lights up), Screen Wake turns off (icon dimmed) and DND is on (icon also dimmed!).
  • If you turn off SLEEP (icon dimmed), you can control DND and Screen Wake individually.
Hence you can turn off DND (and get notifications) and you can turn on Screen Wake.

The SLEEP option may be new after the firmware update, as I can't recall seeing it there before, and for some reason, it turned ON for me. As result, I had no notifications for a few weeks!

It's all good now, I turned SLLEP off and my Chrge 3 started to function again, as expected.

I’m having the same issues with the DND, sleep and screen wake icons the only ones showing on my Fitbit charge 3 after I updated. The hard reset doesn’t bring up the battery icon but a smiley face.

please can someone assist?

Best Answer

Same here. Got the firmware update and it keeps hemorrhaging - blinking back and forth to the DND/Sleep screen and vibrating while sitting on the counter - and no matter how many times I do the hard reboot (7 times now) or if I turn the icons, it won't stop. Any help would be appreciated!

I am also having the same issue. Can't get any notifications on my fitbit now.
