Charge 3 is tracking too many floors

Hi,

I just got my charge 3 last week and I love it ... but except about the floor calculations... I had the HR charge before and Fitbit one too. So i'm used that my tracker will put more floor if it's a windy day (cause I live at 4000 feet altitude) but the last 2 days were without any wind and it counts 57 floors when I did maybe 10...? It often happens when I got at tennis. Any ideas??

Same here. I got a Charge 3 in December 2019 - I think it was my fourth Fitbit tracker over the years. It logs way too many floors, sometimes over 200 floors per day, day after day. I have just earned a "Satellite Badge" for 35,000 lifetime floors. No way I deserve that badge.

I too will be looking at competitors if Fitbit does not fix this issue. The suggested "Best Answer" workaround is not acceptable.

HA! This is NOT "answered".

I started having the same floor over counting issue starting 4/4/2020 on my Charge 3. The frustrating thing with FitBit is they don’t seem to have a way to log a trouble ticket, obtain diagnostic info, etc.  If you have a lot of users experiencing the same problem, there’s a software/hardware problem somewhere.  Seems like they should be more interested in isolating, and if possible fixing the problem.  I suspect it is a hardware component that is failing, they do know about it, but have no interest in spending the money to replace multiple thousands of units.

Has anyone received and answer, or found a solution?

My house is one level, I work from home, and do not have any stairs, nor elevation change.

it’s driving me nuts!  I have always loved Fitbit however, if it continues to show 100+ stairs per day, I’ll switch to an brand. I’m losing trust

I haven't heard from anyone about the issue and it is still a problem for me also. I agree, will have to likely switch to another brand soon.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

That’d be fine if it happened rarely.  It’s happened to me nearly every day - and it’s not just a floor or two- it’s like 50 floors when I walk on a flat surface- no wind either.  Like the original poster this is my third Fitbit and I’ve never had anything this far off for floors.

I got my Charge 3 in May of 2019 and just 2 days ago this began happening to me too. Supposedly, I got 97 flights today... Strangely enough my step count of 5,376 and my activity of 29 minutes does not agree with that... You'd think with nearly 100 floors under my belt I would have at least met an exercise goal for the day, but no. Likely, because I actually only climbed (maybe) 10 flights today. There has got to be a fix for this, it is very frustrating.

Hi

I have got the same issue. It just counts steps even though I am sitting. Something is wrong with device tracking.

Thanks

Sid

This is not an answer and this is not helpful. I did not do 57 floors and this is killing my motivation. We need an actual fix for this.

I completely agree however it was a “me too” reply. Fitbit will not fix the problem. Garmin does do a fair job if you are interested in switching to Garmin. I bought my Garmin almost 2 years ago and will never go back to Fitbit.
