My device has stopped showing REM and Deep sleep. It shows Time asleep, awake, restless etc. But when it does show sleep stages it won’t show anything for REM or Deep sleep. Just 0 min.
Also it is less often that it even registers the sleep stages and just shows basic Sleep Details. I have restarted several times. The watch is the seams on my wrist as it was when it was working properly. April 18 was the last night I got full sleep stages recorded. Not sure when the last update occurred.

A warm welcome to the Community @D10s.
Thanks for troubleshooting this sleep issue by yourself. There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:
Let me know the outcome.

I have tried all your options again. I have been a Fitbit user for over three years. I’ve had a Charge HR, Charge 2 and now a Charge 3. I believe I understand the basic operations, this issue has never happened before where the Sleep registers the Light sleep but shows 0 for REM and Deep sleep night after night. I know that I haven’t suddenly only sleeping with 0 minutes of Deep or REM sleep. It has to be some glitch of some sort. It’s been over three weeks since the device registered Sleep Details that showed anything other than light sleep.
The Charge does occasionally does give the simplified sleep details on some nights, but the issue is the nights when it Shows the detailed sleep schedule.
Greg
I also wanted to add that I have never used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app.
None of the nights I slept for less than 3 hours and the device’s battery has never been critically low.

Thanks, but there was no help there either. Couldn’t get an answer to fix the issue.

I have a Charge 3 and it has also stopped recording my sleep stages for 2 nights in a row. This is the first time I have seen this issue and the only thing different I have done recently is to update the software on both the device and my iPhone.

Mine will on occasion record the sleep stages. But when it does it only registers Light Sleep and Times Awake and then shows 0mins for Deep and REM Sleep.

I get asleep, restless and awake. Last night when I had it off my wrist for a while and later when I was watching TV, it recorded the time as sleep. I wish I had never upgraded my Charge 3.

I am having the same issue. It's tracking sleep/sleep stages, but giving me 0 for REM sleep the last two nights. It's showing normal to almost above normal deep sleep and above average for light sleep, nothing for REM.
I am very good at remembering my dreams so I know I've been dreaming the last two nights even though I've not been getting more than 4 hours of sleep. So this is not an issue with me only getting small amount of light sleep as I can remember my dreams and it's tracking over an hour of deep sleep each night.

Once again I have no sleep stages recorded. My battery is at 83%. My heart rate was recorded and I don't sleep in a strange position. I recently updated my IOS but that's about it. This brings down my sleep record for the week, so now I have a "poor" average.
PS - I really wish we could disable the sleep rating system. It is annoying and not being able to disable it makes me far less likely to pay for the premium plan.

I am having the same issues with my Charge 3. I've tried all the instructions that's you suggested to the previous post as well, along with the sleep now option.

I just got the fitbit charge 3 a week ago. The first night it showed my sleep stages (rem included). Then nothing but sleep activity. I feel like I should return it as I can't get it to work. NO, it's not on a low charge.

What worked for me was to uninstall the app and remove it as a blue tooth device. I also plugged it into via USB to a power source and rebooted it a couple of times. When I installed the app again, seem to record my sleep.

How do you uninstall the sleep app? I thought it was all one app...

None of these ever work. I have had this issue on and off for years. I never know why it comes and goes. It says that it didn't get a steady consistent heartbeat, but I know that is BS because it shows my heartbeat non-stop every day for 24 hours by the minute. Help!!

Mine started about 2 weeks ago. Only basic sleep data. Two nights ago it started saying I didn't sleep when I've actually slept longer than usual. About to throw it out. And it rarely tracks heart rate when exercising or anything. Was working fine. No reason for the change. Wear it like I have for over a year.
