Charge 3 isn't tracking my sleep accurately

Hi everyone, I’m having issues with my sleep tracker and wondering if this is a known issue. I have my sleep settings for dominant hand, normal sensitivity and have the tracker pretty secure around my wrist, but every night my sleep analysis tells me I wake up more than numerous throughout the night for periods of 30 sec to 3 min and so if I sleep for 10 hours, it tells me I was awake for 2 hours of it even though I was not. Is there any fix to this or do I need to input all my sleep data manually? I was hoping to avoid that since it wouldn’t give me sleep insights anymore but I don’t even know if the current ones I have are accurate.

Hi there @Sapphine, welcome to the Community Forums. We're sorry for the late response, due to recent events affecting our operations, we're taking longer to respond.

Thanks for the details provided about how your Charge 3 is registering your sleep data and for making sure your tracker is pretty secure around your wrist. I'm here to help you.

As you know, sleep stages are based on heart rate data, so make sure that you're getting a solid heart rate reading , since sleep stages requires consistent HR. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight. Also, double check that your watch is charged up.

Additionally, I'd recommend checking the following that could be preventing you from receiving sleep stages:

  • If you used the "Begin Sleep Now" option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.

Give this a go and let me know how it goes.
