Charge 3 miss counting steps and stairs

My Charge 3 has a couple of issues.  1 it notifies me that I have reached 10,000 steps and I am 2,000 away yet.  Then I get another notification and I am still like 500 steps away. Second, it gives me total stairs up over 100 every day.  I live in a pretty flat area, so there is no way I could get that high.

I have rebooted  the device using the reboot in settings, and have tried using the charging cable and holding the button down for 15 seconds.  Nothing seems to work.
