Not quite sure the cause of this. It's my wife's device, but I am her support. All I know for sure is that she put it on the charger last night and this morning we are seeing some strange behavior from the device. It is a little over a year old.
Behaviors:
Black un-responsive screen.
Green biometric sensor LED is constantly on. No flicker or flashing
When you press the touch button the device vibrates. Hold it down and the device vibrates for about 12 seconds and then stops. Press the touch button again, and that strange cycle repeats.
Troubleshooting steps:
Attempted to soft reset the device as per instructions in the manual and on the site.
While it is on charger the button press behavior seems to be the same as if it was off the charger. Held the button from 8 to 15 seconds after the vibration stopped to see if it was registering a reset attempt after the vibration. No joy. Attempted steps several times with the same results.
Unknowns: my wife likely has not updated her device, and her phone is only connected to Wi-Fi when she notices it (hardly ever). I do not know what firmware version it is on.
