Charge 3 - no heart rate and battery depletes fast

No longer reads heart rate (no flashing green lights). Went to the forums, I reset and recharged, and after a 100% charge, the battery drops to 50% in a matter of hours and still no heart rate readings.  Fitbit is less than 5 mos old.  Defective batch?
