I just got my Charge 3 today. I have been charging it up for 2.5 hours now. It never gets above 48 percent. If I unplug it and re plug it in, the charge level drops almost 7 percent. Right now it is on a different USB charger and at 31 percent. Is anyone else having this issue?

It took about 5 hours to fully charge my Fitbit Charge 3 when I first bought it BUT there also seems to be an issue with the battery percentage indicator when it's plugged in. I have noticed this on my Fitbit Charge 3. When I plug it in the battery percentage suddenly plummets. I don't think it actually does in reality, and am guessing it's just a bug.

Thanks, I'll update if it fully charges. I am now at 5.5 hours and it still says 34 percent. Sighhh.....After over 7 hours and engaging support. Waiting on their reply now. Most likely got a charger that's got loose pins. 10 hours 25 minutes of charging and I finally got the smiley face. I have a case open and they will contact me. Almost certain it's the charger.

They are sending me a new charging cable. Had the nerve to say they checked to make sure I was still under warranty. Of course I am, I got the darned thing this past Saturday 10/13. Also, it is easy to tell if it's not charging. When it is charging is shows the charge status when you tap/touch the face. If not charge status, it's not charging. Send them a picture of it on Facebook messenger and they will send you a case number.

I charged mine up fully yesterday, and by 4pm it was at 37%!!! So much for lasting a week!!!
Now, I have placed it on the charger, and it will not move past 37%!!! Where’s the quality control on this disastrous product!!! This is going straight back for a refund. I’m sticking with Garmin.

Welcome on board @Alnrovh, @parkanne, and @masondicosmo! Sorry to hear about the battery inconveniences you've been having with your Charge 3.
First of all, I'd recommend restarting your tracker by following these steps.
Then, please check if the contacts on the tracker or charging cable are dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Clean the charging contacts using the instructions in How do I clean my tracker?
Also, if you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.
Check the alignment and try reconnecting your tracker to the charging cable. For illustrations and tips on how to know if the connection is secure, see How do I charge my tracker?
Make sure that your tracker isn't wet. If so, thoroughly dry your tracker before charging it.
Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Thank you for this response. I have been charging my fitbit charge 3 for the first time, for 3 hours and it is on 94%. Can I assume, from your response, that plugging my fitbit into a wall socket will be faster than using the USB link I'm currently using? How much time can I reasonably expect to take when I re-charge the battery going forward?

I had the same issue with my brand new Charge 3, only charged to 40%, then later to 30%.
Tech support helped me reboot it, with no change. I let the power drain to 0, then recharged,
but then it maxed out at 9%.
Tech support is sending me a replacement tracker, so that is good.

I did all of this and still nothing. Also contact Fitbit customer service what a joke. Was told they will be in contact via email. So what am I supposed to walk around with this until I hear from them so they can get picture of the over priced pile of junk? I have had this a little over a week n with taxes it cost almost 200! I would like to think something of that price would last me away least a year not a week!! One very upset customer

I have mine charging but don't know if it actually is charging. The battery light stays on red.

I can't find where they offered any resolution, but a new cable would be a start!

Is there an easy way to charge the Fit Bit Charge 3???? I've tried 3 different chargers, cleaned the contacts and tried a fourth one that finally looks like it might work. Well as long as I don't move the charger. To me it looks as if the charging cable isn't making contact with the tabs on the back of the device. I'm thinking of going back to my beat up old Charge. Very sad for a Christmas present.

I also have this issue. Only had my Charge 3 for 1 month.
