Charge 3 not connecting when phone is locked

My fitbit has just stopped connecting to my iphone when the phone is locked, i go onto the bike mode every day and i connect it whilst my phone is unlocked however as soon as i lock my phone and start cycling my fitbit will disconnect and not track how far i have gone and will just record the time. I have deleted the app and it wont even connect at all now since downloading the newer version of the app

Let me help you with your Charge 3 losing connection when your iPhone is locked. This may be related to a battery saving option on your phone. Usually when you lock your phone it will stop any or the selected apps from running in the background to save battery. Please check this option and make sure the Fitbit app is in the list of exceptions. You can check additional instructions in this help article.
