Charge 3 not counting all floors climbed

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 only counted 41 of 100+ floors climbed. I know the tracker isnt spot on accurate but wow... i dont understand what the issue is. Ive used my tracker many times for climbing stairs and never had an issue and i have a general idea of how many floors climbed because of how often and how familiar i am with the stairs that ive used for several years now for exercising.

Any ideas what the issue might be?...

Hello there @Delmas, welcome to the Community Forums. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. I appreciate your feedback for the Fitbit Charge 3.

Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps.

Said so, as you may know, your Charge 3 records floors with an altimeter to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain, however there are other factors that affect its accuracy. Such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door. That being said, I'd recommend to clean your Fitbit device with the steps described in this help article.

Once that is done, please try performing a long restart, which is different from the regular restart:

  1. Plug your device back into the charging cable and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  2. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  3. The device turns off.
  4. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  5. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  6. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Hello there @Delmas, thanks for getting back and letting me know that today there was no issues with your floor counting.

If you think that there was sweat inside the altimeter, I suggest checking: How do I clean my Fitbit device?

I'll be around if you need further assistance.
