Charge 3 not holding a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got my Charge 3 on the day of release, and I charged it to 100% as I was supposed to. It lasted about 6 days, which I was happy with. Once it got to 10%, I charged it for the first time since the initial charge.

This time it lasted about 6.5 days, and I was happy with it again. However, the next time I charged it, when it was around 10% again, it lasted less than two days, I didn't notice this until it was almost dead, and I charged it once more.

Once again, only about 1.5 - 2 days on a charge. I have not changed any settings since the 6 day battery life period. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @lad893, welcome to the Community.

I am sorry to hear that your Charge 3 isn't holding a charge. We find that in some cases customers charge the device incorrectly; if you want to double check our charging instructions, you can do so by taking a look at the help article How do I charge my Fitbit device?.

Battery use is affected by various factors and settings. We provide tips for preventing battery drain at Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? help article. If the charging instructions and battery preservation tips don't help, meaning you're still seeing a rapid and unexplained battery drain, let me know.

Hope to hear from you soon. Smiley Happy

I charged it exactly as it was stated in the page, and I have most settings on the most battery friendly mode. It seems to be getting slightly better, but still not near what it was. I charged it roughly 24 hours ago as of writing this, and its currently at 71% with little use (no set exercises, guided breathing, or alarms).

I am having similar issues. I am very discouraged.

After the previously mentioned charge, I got it to last about 5-6 days. Now, however, its lasting less than 18 hours. I would appreciate any help I can get. (bump)

Was there a solution to this?  My Charge 3 is only lasting about 24 hours and it used to be for 5-7 days.

I contacted support and after a brief chat, they had me update the charge 3 throughout the day so they could track the battery and then sent me another.

The issue happened again though, and they're now having me send the old one in and then they will send a replacement. They gave me a shipping label, so I don't have to pay shipping, just letting you know you're experiences may vary.

So I must be one of those folks that is out of luck as well. Bought myself a Charge 3 as a Christmas present to help me get fitter. Was sitting at my desk at work and noticed the screen was blank and won't respond. Came here to see I need to charge it at home and reset it. I don't have my charger with me so I'll have to wait until I get home but I tried to clock face trick and it couldn't work. My phone app says it is synced with my fitbit but when I go to clock faces and scroll to all faces I don't have any other options to click so I can't even see if that works. Pretty bummed that I paid so much for a piece of kit and its already having issues after 2 months.

I spoke with a Fitbit representative and they ran a test on my device which in fact prove that there was an issue with the battery and they are replacing it.

I am having the same issues.  Never had this with the Charge 2.  So disappointed in the charge 3.

I have had a fitbit charge 3 sine February and it has had brilliant battery life.....until I installed the latest update on the device on Friday 12/07/2019. I installed the update whilst charging and charged the battery to 100% on Friday Morning  and by Saturday morning it was completely drained. I was away from home for the weekend so was unable to charge it until yesterday when I cleaned the connections, plugged the charger into my computer usb port and rebooted the device as instructed on the FAQ page and yet by 7pm yesterday it was completely drained again!!! Also I have noticed the device is getting hot during charging. Is there anyway to reverse the software install as this seems to be what triggered the problem,

Thanks

I agree m, I’ve never had a problem with my Fitbit Charge 3 holding a charge until the latest update. My Fitbit now lasts less than 24 hours.

It it is also no longer logging my sleep.

I am having the same issue, my batter may last about an hour after charging to 100%. Changed settings, charged on different source, cleaned area where connects to charger, unpaired from app and set up again, but nothing is working.

The issue was the device and fitbit can see the issue normally so they quickly sent me a replacement. Great customer service. I’d recommend contacting them.

I am having the same problem. I charge it, it says 100% then it dies within 5 mins. The reset and sync options are not working. Are there any other options. I have not had this Fitbit for 6 months yet.

I would recommend contacting fitbit and they should send you a replacement as it is still in warranty.
