Will give that a try as my charge 3 is now lucky if it lasts 24 hours now before going down to 25%/30%.
This morning when I got up charge 3 was saying 18% battery.

I know my charge 3 is now 14 or 15 months old but battery should still be lasting at lest over 24 hours.

Not sure if I will replace the Charge 3 with the Charge 4. As don’t know if over time the same will happen to that with the battery.

As I mentioned - mine is 2 years old all right now I am now almost 3 days in and holding in the 70s.

The important thing is to NOT use a high power charge source (phone charger, those 3.0 amp ports in cars, etc) . Use a trickle which is usually all you get from the usb on a computer.

I did what was posted above and my charge 3 is now holding its charge more than it was before but I'm still not get 4 days charge out of it. I still have to change my charge 3 at last almost every 2 or 3 days as by that time my Charge 3 will be at 25% by the  evening of day 2 or the morning of day 3 and 25% would only last a few hours. So I have to charge it.

It's been over 2 days since I last charged my Charge 3 and battery is now showing as 29%. So will have to put it on charge for a short while before going to bed.

Then fully charge it in the morning before I go to work. Than it should hopefully last  almost another 2 or 3 days before I need to charge it again,

Same for me.  Everything was good until 4 days ago.  Did all the recommendations.  Nothing has worked.  Charge 3 will only hold a charge for 30 minutes at the most.  Happened overnight.  This is the 2nd Fitbit device where this problem has occurred.  Will be looking at another brand.  Was a big supporter of Fitbit until now.  Looking at Garmin reviews.

Why this tread has been marked as answered I do not now. For the problem has not been fully answered in my option and for some like me the minor battery problem still remains.

I agree.  But they obviously don't care. I won't buy them again.  They have a version on Amazon now that does everything I need for a fraction of the cost. I'll probably try it.

This just started happening to me ... i received this as a gift in September and I loved it as it held a charge for so long and really liked the little details ... then, on Thanksgiving,  I had it charged fully and seemed fine, then Friday, it died on me around 1pm. I charged it and realized that around 6:10a it had died... so only like 12hrs ... then I charged it this morning around 9a and it is now 3pm and its already down to 45%

The above fix seems to have only been a temp fix for me for I'm now again lucky if my charge 3 battery last 24 hours before it goes down to 15%/18% and I have to charge it. For 18% battery will only last an hour or two if that before charge 3 goes dead.

Also in the last few days have had to reset my charge 3 twice for the notifications on it for text, Facebook and calls stopped working for some reason.

I have reset my device and the battery life is now less.   It charges to 100%just fine and now dies within 10minutes . When I put it back on charge it says 2% when it displays again. This is right after 5+ days battery life previously and no incident with the tracker in between. Not wet, not hot no impact. How can you help me? The reset did nothing, maybe made it worse

Just got off a chat with Fitbit Support.  My Charge 3 is almost a year old and I was told it is defective and out of warranty, but that I am welcome to buy another device from them with a discount.   This is pretty disappointing, but at least I know how Fitbit supports their product.  Good luck in getting your problem resolved.

You sound like you work for the company, posing as a consumer to shift the blame from the product to the owner. The problems with your  'consumer abuse' theory are: 1) the device did not come with instructions re: what charging stations to/not to use so if what you say is true, the failure to instruct in this regard is still the company's fault; 2) even if what you say is true, this indicates a design defect , as no one needs/wants a device that has to be babied; and 3) too many posts reflect the identical unique history of the first device failing with a malfunctioning screen within 6 months and the new replacement suddenly won't hold a charge! Like someone else said, I enjoy using the device, but will now look for another brand.

Exactly the same thing - screen went blank after 6 months.  Sent a replacement and now 2 months later this replacement is not holding its charge....

After the latest Fibit Update, my Fitbit Charge 3 will drop down to 3% within an hour. I have it plugged in, and after restarting and waiting fifteen minutes it's still at 3%. Please help!

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Then fitbit sent a second replacement, which wouldn't even switch on or charge! Now they want me to ship it back at my expense before sending me a third replacement. I'm on the verge of giving up but I don't see why they should get away with this.

Same here, it started happening a few weeks ago. I thought it was the age (I got it the year it came out), but it happened so suddenly that I don’t think that’s it. So frustrating!

Update. Persistence and contacting via all platforms paid off in the end. Support finally issued what looks to be a brand new Charge 3 about a month ago. Working fine so far. Will be interesting to see how long this one lasts!

Congratulations! It looks like persistence did pay off for you. I must admit, I gave up after several attempts and decided I can live with a device reminding me to exercise 😊.

Who did you go to? I've found the Fitbit app to be far superior... but now that my old Charge 3 crapped out on me the answer was a 35% off coupon that isn't applicable towards the Charge 5 - the only comparable device to mine. I can't even find where they give us device info anymore - just here's a picture and buy now. No comparison, no feature chart. I'd LOVE to find a better alternative if you have one!

Unbelievable, I've been having the same problem across multiple charge devices since 2015. And now, my most recent device has done the same thing. I've been a loyal customer for 7 years and I keep getting a new device, then a replacement, then spending more money on a new device again just to continue the cycle again. I wish I could articulate how frustrating this has been.
