Charge 3 not recording active minutes - stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

All this week Jan 20 to today Jan  25 my new Fitbit 3 has stopped recording active minutes.  It worked perfectly from the original turn on in mid December 2018 - but this past week - it has stopped recording any active minutes.  Including timed sessions on treadmill or other activities.  I know my heart rate was high enough and I was doing activities like treadmill or walking or weight training.  It appears that this function is no longer working/tracking activities.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @sartoris, hope you're doing great today! I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced when tracking your active minutes. I would recommend taking a look at this article. If you haven't done it already, please perform a restart to your Fitbit Charge 3 by following these steps. Additionally, there are different factors that can affect your heart rate readings. Please follow our recommendations to wear your Charge 3.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Mine stopped counting active minutes and calories are not registering properly either, was working fine until a couple of days ago.  I know I have done more than 10 minutes as I mowed the lawn and that takes 30 minutes of hard work.  I am not happy about it these fit bits are not cheap and should be more reliable. Today I got over 18000 steps but only 800 calories and no active minutes other days I have got way more calories.

About 3 months ago Fitbit support assured me they were working on a fix for
this problem. They said there was no point in giving me a new Fitbit
charge 3 as it would just have the same problem. They are still selling
them even though they know they are faulty. Doesn’t look like there will
be a fix in the near or even distant future, I think it is time we all
returned our faulty Fitbit charge 3 for a refund.

I have been on to tech support several times over the last 5 months they
say it is a known fault and they are working on it there is no point
replacing the device as a new I will still have the same problem, they
refused to give me a refund. I sent an email to the CEO and he sent my
complaint to another person who offered to replace my Fitbit charge 3 or
give me a refund, he arranged for a courier to pick it up but unfortunately
although I waited all day the courier didn’t turn up. I am waiting for a
day I can be home to get onto them to pick it up so hopefully I will get a
refund soon.

I know all the fixes and rebooting works but I have to do it every other day or so...this is ridiculous!!!!!!  Are you going to fix this?  It has nothing to do with how it is worn by us it simply stops active minute recording over and over.
