Charge 3 not syncing and screen shows black stripes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

since I have installed the iOS 14.1 my Fitbit charge 3 isn’t able to maintain the connection with the Fitbit app. The charge 3 is not detectable as Bluetooth. So synchronization of data isn’t possible. Except when I put the Fitbit in the charger. During this time connection (synchronization) is great.

I have already upgraded the Fitbit app to the newest version and iOS to 14.2 but the issue remains.

The other issue is the horizontal black stripes in my Fitbit screen. The stripes are always on the same place and visible in every menu. (Kind of like broken pixels but in this case entire lines)

I also have an issue with darkness of the screen so I am not able to read the messages or for example heartbeat. But I read a possible solution so I will try that.

I hope you can help me because I was a very happy customer till a few days ago.

kind regards

  Danielle

@Devious76 Thanks for being part of our Community!

Let me help you with you with your Charge 3 screen showing lines and not syncing. You can try the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device (this should help with the screen issue).
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Good afternoon,

I removed the devices from Bluetooth on my phone (iPhone 11) and restarted both phone and Fitbit (charge 3). The synchronization seems to be steady (for now at least).

the horizontal black lines are still there unfortunately. I rebooted my Fitbit twice and still the same result.

kind regard,

D.

Synchronization problems returned after a day. So unfortunately this was not a solution for the long run.

2nd time this has happened to me with charge 3. Got it replaced in May this year and now it's happened again  exactly the same problem. Fitbit have offered me a 35% discount off a new one but I don't find this fit for purpose - it rarely syncs, lines on screen - replacement is 7 months old but isn't covered by their warranty. Very annoyed by it. Done all the troubleshooting steps, restarts of everything, Bluetooth off, delete App etc.

That's what I got - a 35% discount offer to buy a replacement as apparently out of warranty

Considering my options atm ..........

May go over to an Apple Watch -- who knows!!!  There's pros & cons - I do like the FitBit sleep monitoring but not much else between the two otherwise (apart from cost which is only worth considering if you get value for money!!)
