Welcome to the Community @Sannie1969

Thanks for the details shared on your post and for the troubleshooting performed prior posting.

To better assist you, please confirm if you have followed the instructions here in order to restart the tracker. As you may know some factors may affect the heart rate reading on your Fitbit device, so please visit the following link: What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

If the issue persists, I recommend trying the following:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion Cindy, unfortunately the Charge 3 is not responding to a deep restart, only restarts via the "settings screen" wich is a short restart. The problems remain and are not only the heartrate issue. Looks like the side button is not working properly.

Kind regards

I was having the same trouble as she was with my heart tracker not functioning properly, so I’m either a zombie or my device stopped working properly, right? Well, we narrowed down that I’m not a zombie, guess that means my device has failed in under a year?

So did as this listed and after restart my screen is now unusable. And wtf happened? I had tried the “reboot device” first, nothing happened other than a reboot, and heart tracker not tracking, but after this step by step the screen display is trashed, and still no GD heart tracker, can’t monitor sleep, if your heart don’t beat! And I needed this device for that reason. This is now the second Fitbit to fail me, the first would no longer sync to devices, so I purchased another, and both failed not even a year old to just over a year. How would I be able to get them repaired?

After lots of unsuccesfull try outs and reading forums just threw the Charge3 in the bin and got a Charge4. Hope this one survives longer then 1,5 year (a common life-span for the Charge3 seems after reading a lot of posts)
