Charge 3 not tracking sleep accurately

Hi, recently I have had to reset my Charge 3 a few times to get my sleep pattern registered. For the last few weeks the sleep pattern graph has worked correctly. But last night I got the flat line again!! I have reset the Charge 3 this morning, but I won't know if it has worked till morning. But what has this started up recently on the Charge 3? Otherwise I have been very pleased over the last coupe of years with it.

Hi there @SandyBrum, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about your sleep data and for taking the time to restart your Charge 3 prior to contacting us.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see: What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Thanks for this advice. I have restarted my fitbit and my sleep record is now showing properly again. I still don't really know why I have lost my sleep record about 4 or 5 times in the last 2/3 months, as I have been wearing it in my usual way when asleep. But I suppose these things happen!! Anyway thanks for replying. Sandy

Hi again. I spoke too soon! Last night my sleep diagram again showed a horizontal line although it gave me a sleep score of 80. So I have agin reset my fitbit to see if that lets me have a proper sleep pattern.

I am getting a bit fed up about my sleep tracker. Yet again I got a flatlining sleep pattern. See below. Since the 6th Feb, this has happened 4 times. I have reset my fitbit twice, which resulted in having a proper sleep pattern, but then it defaulted both times. I then left my fitbit as it was and for one day it was OK, and then defaulted again last night to a flatline. Can anyone let me know what is going on, because my fitbit hasn't had a flatline for months, so to have 4 flatlines in less than 2 weeks is frustrating! Screenshot 2020-02-14 at 12.28.31.png

I also have the same problem - despite restarting the watch several times, it looks like the firmware update has killed the sleep tracking, everything else is still working fine...
