Charge 3 not tracking sleep stages

Very new Fitbit charge 3 user. Really enjoyed the display of different sleep Stages throughout the night. Worked fine the first two nights, but these last two nights the display is very simplified. Not sure if I am not doing something I correctly. I wear the Fitbit on my non dominant wrist and I go to the app on my phone and click Begin Sleep Now when I go to bed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there @Shelbs21, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided and letting me know what you've been doing in order to get your sleep details.

Please note that you're not receiving sleep stages since you're using "Begin Sleep Now" and this prevents you from getting sleep stages.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see: What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

I hope this helps, give this a go and let me know if next time your Charge 3 provides you with your sleep data. 😉

I’m new to Fitbit too but found a workaround to this. I feel it’s Buggy !! So for a week I went to sleep and it tracked my sleep patterns. I noticed the begin sleep now button and thinking it might be more accurate used it last night. When I opened app it showed me time to sleep and waking but none of the pattern stuff . Being a little OCD, it made me upset missing that info, researched and found that yep if you manually click begin sleep now, the sleep patterns deep rem are missing.
However, I fixed it like this by experimenting. The day of sleep where pattern is missing, I selected it then clicked delete. The days sleep disappeared. I thought better of so I thought I’d put it in manually. Then I added sleep log back in with the start and end time. As soon as I saved it, my log updated with the sleep patterns, showing full cycles of rem (and when I woke up at 5am)!!  So my problem is fixed but wow what a weird bug.

I hope this helps people. You can restore them.
