Charge 3 not tracking sleep stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello

I was given a charge 3 a few weeks ago specifically for tracking my sleep due to insomnia. I have yet to see ANY sleep stage report. I have tried all the suggestions I found as well as the items suggested in the "official" post. Nothing.. defective?? Or is this device no longer supported? I have a doctor's appointment in 2 weeks and would like to have complete data to take in with me.

Hi @Larou  read this article on how our sleep is tracked - click to go there. The device is still supported. For more complete data, you might want to check into getting Fitbit Premium, which goes into more detail.

Hello @Larou. Welcome to the community forums. @Odyssey13 Nice to see you around and thanks for your input.

@Larou Thank you for the detailed information and for the troubleshooting steps you've followed prior to posting. Regarding your questions, I'd like to let you know that your Charge 3 should still track your sleep stages, nevertheless, take into consideration that there are a few scenarios that could impact sleep stages. For this, please consider the following:

  1. If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  2. If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  3. If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  4. If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, you can see: What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages? In addition, I recommend performing a restart by following the instructions here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.
