Charge 3 not tracking sleep

Bought my Fitbit Charge 3 on Saturday. Tracked my sleep first night, hasn’t since for last 3 nights. Have to keep putting it on charger and restarting. Few hours later it appears on watch and phone. Can’t keep doing this! Any ideas?

So, I can't install the app on my phone (NO ONE has been able to get it to install) so I have to use a laptop and mine won't track sleep either.  I'm so sorry to be stupid but where is the "+" button you used to get the sleep to track?

Thanks for the info. I had to Uninstaller the app, reinstall & hard stop.
Now it tracks.

I had this problem and read everything in the replies but nothing worked...so I ended up removing the Fitbit from the app and then setting it up like a “new” device, pairing it again. That seemed to really reset the Fitbit and it’s bluetooth connection to the app. Last night, sleep tracked normally. Hope this helps!

Hi everybody, thanks a million for taking the time to post your comments about what is happening with your Charge 3 when tracking your sleep details. First of all, welcome to all new members. I'll do my best to answer each concern.

Thanks for the recommendations and help @KeithA., @Chrisp1, @mjfahning@bnobling, @PowDeb and @Bill5j! Very kind of you. Heart

@Lorac280 Nice to see that you can use your iPad, have you checked if your phones meet the requirements to connect. Check the model and updates. Thanks for confirming that your old device is working fine.

@olb33@Louford77@Benk01@CWalz@MsSoul75 Sorry to see that you feel that way. If you already try to restart your Fitbit Charge 3. Please There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.
  • Your device needs at least 3 hours of sleep data to estimate your sleep stages, so you won’t see sleep stages for shorter naps.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.

@Benk01 At this moment we don't have plans for this. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes. If you have the time you can support that suggestion by giving your vote.

@JoanneDes Thanks for the feedback about the clock faces, I'm glad to see that you like them. You can see the instructions on how to change sensitivity here. Same thing to you @klpratt, you can check how to change sensitivity with those steps. About the Fitbit App issues, you can post your question in any of these boards depending on the platform of your syncing device, so you can receive help: Android App, iOS App or Windows 10 App.

@leia0chally thanks for letting us know that you got a solutions for this. What did you do?

@Anthe517@Jopw@PowDeb@Grenol That's sounds odd! Where are you checking this information on the Fitbit App or on Fitbit Today on your tracker? If you are checking your Charge 3 and can't see the sleep information there but you can see the message "Sleep not tracked",  sorry for any trouble, we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

@Jopw You can reset your Charge 3 with this instructions: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

@DeMDee Thanks a million for sharing your feedback about your Charge 3, as we are handling sleep issues you can check also this thread where they are talking about syncing issues. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Forums.

Nothing is working. I’ve tried every suggestion I’ve seen surrounding this issue. I’m almost to the point of returning mine, sadly.

I am dealing with this very same issue, doing the same steps you did.  I hope someone has a solution since my challenge begins in a few hours

Hi

i had problems yesterday doing an update. I removed the device then reinstalled as a new device. I also turned off my phone and iPad and restarted those. When I turned them back on they both picked up my charge3 straight away. All working ok again now.

I've had two issues:

The immediate issue was the C3 not syncing even though the Bluetooth was on and linked.  I had to go into the C3 menu under settings and about to Clear User Data.  Once that action was taken, it immediately synced - losing the 15000 steps earned Sunday.

The ongoing issue with Sleep is that it was affected by the immediate issue above, of which I lost all of my sleep data for Sunday.  Sleep, about 20% of the time (2 out of 10 days in the last month) is not recording sleep stages.  As a long time FB user, I have not, do not, wear it differently.  So, I know there are flukes in the algorithms reading the data. Just last night, after the above immediate problem, it failed to produce sleep stages.

You need to go to the web app at the link below and then click the View
Settings button (cog wheel) and you should see your device. Select it and
then the Sleep Tracking option will be available.

I'm not happy with my new Charge3 at all.. my old Fitbit 2 is way better when it comes to sleep tracking. I have moved the Fitbit band on my arm back and forth  but i get between 1 - 3 hours sleep whatever i do. Restarting Charge3 with and with out charger, rebooting from fitbit display no change.. so what is the difference  between Fitbit 2 & 3 then?
