Mine didn’t synch for three days. Turned off blue tooth. Nothing. Restarted phone, tada! Except now the look of the screen on the app has changed. Heart rate and sleep are missing entirely. Have rebooted my charge 4 repeatedly, restarted the phone, even uninstalled the app. No good. I get to track my exercise and my mindfulness, my water and my periods, nothing more.

Given that it’s happening to so many of us, I don’t actually think it’s a problem with the Fitbits themselves but rather the software. It’s just too weird for so many of us to be experiencing the same thing.

Not sure if anyone has tried this but I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app. Resynced my watch (sense) and the sleep has now registered. Just thought I'd mention it here in case it works for anyone else.

I looked this morning and it had only recorded sleep for about 3 hours the rest of the night is missing. I'm annoyed as only had my watch for a couple of months. Will have to message fitbit.

My Fitbit Versa 2 is now tracking sleep only intermittently. That said, when I enter approximate start and stop times, it interprets the data it has and presents me with my sleep stages. Very frustrating. I've only had this watch for about 9 months.
I have tried all the things mentioned above. I factory reset the watch, re-paired it with my phone, etc.

My watch has started tracking sleep again but not the whole night. As someone else said I think it's an issue with the software but it doesn't make it any less annoying especially when you've paid 300 for a watch!

My charge 2 started playing up about four weeks ago. Up till then is tracked sleep well. I've tried all the resetting and other suggestions but nothing seems to work. Is it a design flaw in the unit that after a certain time period it goes 'wrong' so you buy a new one? A bit like tech companies slowing down your phone? (Cynical)

I do wonder that. However, I've only had my watch a couple of months. My app has started showing sleep again although it has the odd moment where it records only part of the night. I think it must be a problem with the app as its so intermittent. It is frustrating though when you've paid £300 for a watch.

If there was a widespread issue with the app, this forum would likely be inundated with complaints given there are apparently 29 million active Fitbit users. I would think at least a million of those are tracking their sleep regularly or semi-regularly, and perhaps 5% of them would be inclined to post something to the forum if there was a recurring error. So I have to conclude that the problem is a relatively isolated one. More frustrating perhaps for that reason since whatever it is Fitbit is less likely to investigate the root causes for this reason.

I have a charge 5 and have tried all of the things you mentioned, turn the heart tracking off and restart turn it on again; I have checked all the settings and position I wear my Fitbit, all appropriate. Most importantly, it used to work fine, I didn’t change ANYTHING (neither how I wear it nor in the setting) and all of a sudden, my Fitbit stopped tracking my sleep for several weeks! (I waited to see if it goes away as a transient problem). Please help all of the users here who are suffering from this problem! Otherwise I have to ditch fitbit forever. A no sleep tracking device means no use at all.

I'm also in the same boat, suddenly my charge 5 won't sync won't track sleep, nothing. Super frustrating as it's only a month old!!

For sure those of you are still having to this problem, I recently managed to track my sleep score again by doing 1) in the app, change the sleep tracking sensitivity to ‘sensitive’, 2) on the device, turn on sleep mode. I don’t know which step makes it work, but somehow it works now.

I just fixed mineee! On the quick settings it was on “on clip” and I could change it to “on wrist” and now the heart rate monitor is back (lights flashing green at the back). Phew!!

How do you turn off heart rate settings?

Spending money on this device was a waste of money for there is absolutely no suport unless you spend more money to get the plan.
The device stopped recording my sleep about a week ago. The on line support wants my credit card number which I do not want to give.
Highly advise NOT to buy a fitbit.

Same issue on Charge 5 was very reliable for several months, mow capture and hour or two a night if I am lucky. If I tell when I slept the data is still there - so if I slept at 1am and I tell it I slept at midnight, it will show a solid hour of awake or “restless”. I have tried the restart step described below.
