Charge 3 not working after a swim

I've had my charge 3 since may 2020, so for about 2 years and have taken it for  a swim a few times. After a recent pool swim in April, it went dead and every time i charge it , it loses charge and stops working in about a min after I unplug it from the charger. I called support now and they said warranty services will respond to me, which they did offering a 35% discount on a new device. Deeply disappointed wiht the quality of the product and the customer service, is the life of a fitbit just under 2 years???! and if so why would I want to buy another one now even if at 35% off?
