Is there a way to adjust my Fitbit in the sunlight? I have to wear my Apple watch to see any screen. Can you help???

After numerous conversations with various Fitbit tech people I caved in as there’s no resolution to the problem. So just can’t see the screen unless it’s pitch black outside

I have given up on my charge 3 due to this issue. What other trackers have good visibility in daylight. I have heard the Apple and Samsung watches are better in daylight.

Thanks for all the replies, although what a pain that this is an issue that Fitbit know about. I am a bit fed up, I already had to give up on the run maps as I only get a tiny section of my run. Looks like I may have to dig out my analog watch and forget the tech!

Dear FitBit,

This is what my Charge 3 screen looks like inside (forget trying to see it outside). Something happened after the last update...it used to be so bright when I moved around in bed, now I can’t even see it inside or out!! My neighbour has the Charge 2 and it’s so bright. This is mine in “Normal”...can’t be normal!! Fix this please!! I bought this one after my Alta HR screen broke.

Agree!  I bought it because I need to track my heart rate while jogging.  It's impossible.  I used to be able to find shade and cover the screen with my hat, still struggling.  Now even that does not work.  I swear it's getting worse....

Update:

Agree.  Though it was an effort, I used to be able to read it.  Now...it's not possible.  As an outdoor jogger, I might as well not be wearing a tracker.  I'm not sure I could now read it on a treadmill in a bright gym...

I hate to abandon Fitbit, but I have to read stats in sunlight.  I don't need...nor can I afford...a high end wristwatch.  I just want a clear read out of time, steps and heart rate.  Surely if upgrades made the Charge 3 problem worse, another upgrade can improve it?  I'll settle for the limited readability it had when I got it!

There are only 2 settings for the Charge 3  and I can not see outdoors or in my car with either.

Charge 3 is totally unreadable outdoors no matter if in normal or auto mode light settings.

My next watch won't be a Fitbit.

I agree. Let me know what watches you are considering.

I tried an iWatch for around a month (purchased from Costco and can be returned). I loved the watch but I didn't need the tech, I like the fitness. I have subscribed to Fitbit Premium for their coaching, videos, mindfulness, etc. $79/year. With the iWatch, it seemed I had to subscribe to a bunch of different apps to get what I wanted. I found an app that would take the iWatch data and put it into the Fitbit app but it wasn't as comprehensive. Also, I had to charge the iWatch every few days. I am using the fitbit sense now. I like it. I CAN SEE it. It works similar to the iWatch, not as smooth but it is fine for me. I wish I hadn't needed to buy a new watch but this is working out for me. It holds a charge for quite a few days. I got it at Costco also. They are $70 off until July 26, 21. They also have the Versa 2 on sale. You can buy online or at a store.

Wow. Thank you. I am looking into several options. I hate to leave
Fitbit after all these years and I get Premium free through my health
plan. Thank you for your feedback...

It's sad that Fitbit see pointing out their lack of recognition as "unconstructive" and not in keeping with forum rules. Complete denial of customer negative messages.

I might wait until i change my phone and get a used Samsung or Apple. I'm not rich but I like useable tech. I might even not bother as I can use a phone app to track walks and food intake if I choose. I'll miss the sleep but wearing 24/7 was affecting my wrist.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. It's more than I need though. I just monitor exercise/steps, heart rate & sleep. It would be nice to tell the time outdoors, too!

I would like to the same thing, without the sleep monitor, although long
time between charging would be good too.

Totally agree.

My Charge 2 was great, but the screen broke, so I got the Charge3. The was bright enough to start, but is now where I can't see it in the car, outside or in a bright area indoors. And there is no help for this so far.

It seems dimmer than when I first bought mine also.  It's a common problem with the Charge 3.

I looked at what is supposedly the best answer and it’s no answer at all. Not only can’t you read the Fitbit charge 3 outside but it also doesn’t track any mileage when you bike ride. Time to buy a Garmin!!
