Charge 3 recording extra floors

My Charge 3 tracks stairs I have not climbed. I have a drop foot and step down hard with my left foot but not sure if that is the reason. I would like to turn that off but it won’t let me. Any suggestions? I think I’m double dipping either the calories. I only walk on the treadmill.

There is no resolution available to this. One of the Fitbit agent suggested me to return my charge 3 back. So guys stop wasting your time in getting it resolved, you will only hear about weather, atmospheric pressure, moisture etc. or rebooting, long restarting, etc. but no actual resolution, because this device is faulty.

I've had my Charge 3 for the second day and this morning it recorded 17 flights climbed. Very disappointing. It seems like it's an on going issue with no clear direction on how to fix it or edit bad information.

@SunsetRunnerthanks for forwarding this Fitbit advice: "One of the Fitbit agent suggested me to return my charge 3 back."

I wished I got this frank suggestion before my return window is closed.

Why isn't this Fitbit agent posting the same advice on all the threads reporting erroneous floor counts?  Can you mention his/her name?

Can any moderator take the responsibility to re-post this advice to all other threads reporting similar floor counts issue which is not being resolved for the longest time?  Can Fitbit at least remove the altimeter / floor count as an advertised feature of Charge 3 and hide it as a default in the next app update?  The least they can do is to hush this highly inaccurate "feature" like what they did to the spO2 tracking.

well, I think this is terrible from fitbit side, to market a device that knowingly does not perform as advertised. On top of that there is no clear communication from them regarding this. I’m certainly not going to invest further in fitbit products. very disappointing.

Hi @KateFitbit,

Is there any news about this issue?

Thanks everyone for your reports on excessive stair count. I've merged several threads together and escalated this to our team for review. Thanks for your patience while we review.

I would like to know if and when it will be fixed.

Thanks.

Been registering in possible stairs for awhile, truly in a way I liked it WOW I CLIMBED 75 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS! But honestly knew it was impossible. Woke up this morning checked fitbit wow feet haven't even hit floor and I climbed 2 floors already I have had flu so been in bed since Sunday numbers are way off all week. Could I be getting credit for someone elses flights and steps?

My thoughts are that the Charge 3 should have been a recall or taken off the market. It doesn’t work and Fitbit cannot seem to fix it.

I live at an altitude of approximately 5800ft, work at an altitude of approximately 5300 feet and travel in the elevator of my office building multiple times throughout the day (about 100 feet) and my Charge 3 counted my elevator trips as floors today. I have a feeling it may count some of my travel to and from work too, if it’s truly calculating changes in a barometric pressure (my ears pop a few times every day).

I feel like simply having an option to turn off the “floors” counter would be much easier than modifying my activity every day. Is this something that’s being looked in to?

Have we gotten any solutions yet? Waiting for update

I have done a total of about 10 floors today yet my charge3 is showing 63 floors, my Ionic is showing 58. Has there been any further updates on this problem. I have tried resetting both of my Fitbits with no success, in fact it seems to make it worse and I can do floors just sitting down.

hi fitbit.

have you completely abandoned this product? is it time to send you another $150??

your responses to this years long issue are utterly unacceptable.

i started wearing the charge3 again to track my actual activity in isolation and have some movement reminder.

it tells me yesterday i walked 7400 steps and climbed 21 floors. in my one bedroom apartment. my only actual activity other than desk couch bed was 1 hour of tyoga which i tracked as an exercise.

please give us something here. an update, a clarification, a suggestion, an apology.

did you seriously ask someone here if they were near a fan?
