To be honest out of everybody who this has happened to they could not
recover the Charge 3. Hope your device is still under warranty.

Same issue here tried all of the usuals I'm having an extra on issue though that I haven't read anybody else on. I've got the red light of Doom. But every once in awhile when I turn the watch on it goes to the screen wake notifications screen. It's almost acting like there's a button being pushed down it's making it go straight to that screen when I swipe One Direction it'll change menus and then changed instantly back. But it's only once in a while that it's doing that. This thing was working fine a minute ago but I got to admit I also had problems with it when I got out of the shower recently. I'm hearing a lot of people starting to have this issue immediately after it got wet. I've had this thing underwater a lot though since I've had it with no issues and they are supposed to be waterproof. What a real piece of junk

My issue olso started the one time I swam with it.

My Fitbit Charge 3 died after about 7 weeks. I don't think that the red light was been the culprit because it stopped going red completely and I noticed that the heart monitor and sleep monitors were no longer working. The green light also stopped blinking but would every once in awhile turn itself on--usually if I was doing something strenuous--and work for a couple of hours/up to a day (including heart and sleep sort of) and then die again. I called customer service rather than deal with a chat line and they agreed almost immediately to send a replacement. The pedometer continues to work and the device usually syncs to my phone, but it is cranky about doing the latter. I just received and connected the new device and I am hoping that it will last more than 7 weeks.

I have had numerous exercise monitors and have had terrible luck with all of them, no matter the manufacturer. I need a reliable tracker but it seems like a pretty expensive item to stop working after so short a time. I stepped into the shower with the old one accidentally a couple of times. I bet that the claims of its waterproofness are exaggerated.

Same for me.  Red light, reboot per instructions, solid horizontal white line across the middle of the screen.  An additional twist: I get the Fitbit logo on the screen with "001" under it.  It looks like it's doing something but remains on the screen for hours until I gave up, rebooted again, and got the same results.

Any help will be appreciated.

I took the unit back to Costco, and they refunded my money. Customer
support at FitBit took too long to address my issue. It's sad when a
company get's so big, or so comfortable that it's processes of customer
support becomes so bureaucratic that it loses it personal connection with
the customer.

Hi,

I am also getting the constant red light which I've noticed is yellow or green depending on some random logic. I've tried the restart, both the 8 and 15 second ones. Sometimes the at 8 seconds the smiley face comes up and sometimes it oges through to 15 second where a the 10th second a line appears to go across the screen on what seems like a 5 second count. Neither work and sometimes the red light comes back on or sometimes it doesn't. Each try I refresh the app but it always says no device found. This is very frustrating. Do you have any thoughts?

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris

Not sure if your device is still under warranty or guarantee. Best would be
to take your device back where you purchased it.

I took my device back and they sent it away, and in the end gave me a new
Charge 3.

Good luck!

Hiya,
I spent about half an hour on the phone with Fitbit support and couldn't
get it working, they thought it had gotten stuck in a reboot loop. Anyway,
they said it was still under warranty and are currently in the process of
sending me a replacement.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers,
Chris 😃

I'M SERIOUSLY TIRED OF THESE ISSUES.

THIS IS MY SECOND CHARGE 3. IT'S A REPLACEMENT AND NOW I'M ACTUALLY PASSED MY WARRANTY PERIOD.

THE DEVICE STARTED VIBRATING AND WENT OFF.

I TRIED RESTARTING AND NOW IT'S STUCK ON RED LIGHT AND A SMILEY FACE.

1. DON'T TELL ME TO TRY RESTARTING IT BECAUSE IT'S TECHNICALLY STUCK. I RESTART IT IT GOES BACK TO THE SAME FACE (CHECK IMAGES ATTACHED)

2. I CANNOT SYNC OR CHANGE THE CLOCK FACE SINCE THE APP CANNOT FIND THE DEVICE.

I'm actually thinking of throwing it away and finding another brand.

NOTE: THIS IS A 2 MONTH OLD REPLACEMENT

I'm so disappointed in FitBit 😔

I have returned my second faulty fitbit, luckily just before my
warranty expired.
The company I bought it through has refunded me, so I am done with Fitbit.
It is a pitty.

My fit bit charger3 has not been holding a charge and now it has a red light on the back instead of green.

Hi

my Fitbit has a red light on the back too and it won't go away. I swam with it on on accident the out it in rice for four days and charged it then it woke up with a smiley face and a red light. It also won't track my heart beat and I tried to turn it on and off but it's still won't work!!!

Same situation. Don’t usually swim with it on, but did briefly and the device started buzzing. Eventually got it to restart the next day, solid red light only, but the battery died within a couple of hours.

Several long and short resets later it’s the same. No heart rate tracking and the battery percentage drops from minute to minute.

Getting it wet and its failure seems too coincidental.

I'm having the same issue now...

Bought my Charge 3 in Oct 2018, so its out of warranty now...

Firmware: 1.63.5 (ever since the firmware was released), no newer version available as of 27.07.2020
I'm doing a daily fitbit app update on my iphone, so not sure which version, since its updated daily anyway.

It was working fine all along.... and in the last 2-4 month, the display brightness went down drastically.

It was possible to read the clock inside a building or in a shady area (shadow of trees etc), but not in direct sunlight anymore. It was just impossible to read from the display.

Brightness set to auto still gave the best result, compared to normal or low (or what ever its called).

2 days ago, the red light at the back went on, none stop. It's draining the battery like crazy. Battery goes from 100% - 0% within 4 hours.
Before that, my battery life was still around 9 solid days before i had to recharge it.

Connected to my charger, pressing the button, waiting 10, 15, 20, 30 sec, Smiley face but red light does not go off.

I changed my clock face (that was mentioned in one of the threads), but no effect.

Wearing it is completely pointless at this stage. After 3 hours it starts buzzing and indicating a low battery status, then it goes off. Recharging to 100% and dies within couple of hours again.

Is there anything which can be done to save my device?

I'm not sure what else to do.. I moved on to the Versa 2 and it's a better
unit than the charge 3..
