Charge 3 said I did 20,000 steps at 3am.

I woke up this morning, early, with my Fitbit congratulating me on doing 20,000 steps. This was 3am. I was sound asleep. I tried a reset and it didn't help. Why did this happen and how can I modify it? Anyone else have the same issue today?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @somewhereiniowa.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Charge 3. Thank you for trying to get them resolved before contacting us.

Whether you have linked your Fitbit account to a third party-app, the activities logged from their side can add steps to your Fitbit account. Manually logged activities can also add extra steps. You can delete any manually logged activity or any activity from a third-party app to remove those extra steps.

You can negate the extra data by manually logging a driving activity. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".

Have a nice day.

This is happening on an almost daily basis now. What is causing this? I am not using any third party app. It's always between 3am and 3:15am, while I am sleeping. Are others having this issue also?

Thank you for your response, @somewhereiniowa.

If you placed your Fitbit Charge 3 on a nightstand please check if there is any electrical appliance issuing vibrations nearby. Your Tracker might record those vibrations as steps. If this is the case, please try placing it in a different place to see if the issue gets resolved.

Our team has recently released a new version of the Fitbit app (3.60 for iOS and 3.59.1 for Android devices). For instructions on how to check your current version and update, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I update the Fitbit app?".

If you followed our instructions without luck, the best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. Please click here to get connected.

Have a nice day.

I wear my fitbit all the time. I don't take it off except to charge it. I just now updated the app and will see if that helps. I will reach out if it doesn't. I have attached another pic. It's just a few examples as I didn't screenshot them all. But please notice the dates and times. They are all happening the exact same time, every time, from 3am to 3:15am.

Thanks for the info.

Nope, didn't work. Got 3319 steps while I was sleeping. Same exact time as the others, between 3am and 3:15am.
