Charge 3 screen black

My wife's Charge 3 has started behaving very strangely. The screen was not coming on, she tried charging it which didn't help.

 

I tried the usual reset procedure, and at first nothing happened. I tried a few more times, holding the button down for longer and eventually the screen did come on with a smiley face.

 

However, there was a strip of heavy corruption (like a white noise signal on old TV) down the right hand side. And the visible part of the display was all fuzzy, and displaced to the left so you could only see about 3/4 of the display.

 

After some net searches I tried changing the clock face. The app was connecting and syncing, it said the face had changed but it didn't fix the problem.

 

I then found advice on this site to put it in the charger, hold for 15 seconds, remove from charger then put back in. The screen went black again and did not come back on. When holding the button you can feel and hear the vibrations it does when starting to reset, but nothing happens.

 

Any advice?

My screen is completely white when I press the button what should I do?

Hi, I've tried the same fixes as @Orion3T, but the screen stays the same with the continuous face showing a white band.  It generally will not swipe to be able to activate my fitness tracker.
