Charge 3 screen is black and will not reset

My screen has all of a sudden gone black. It still syncs and charges. I have tried many times to reset it, but it will not reset. The smiley face never appears. The screen remains black.

Good luck! The fitbit I bought last November does the same thing. Fitbit claims it was activated in 2018 so is out of warranty. They'll give me a 25% discount on a new one, but I think I'll go look at a more reliable product and a reputable company. I'll dig through old receipts, but not sure I want to ever deal with them again.

And mine will not reset per directions.  I even cleaned the charging parts with isopropyl alcohol.  It will transmit steps, shows it is connected via Bluetooth.  But I can't see the screen, now I don't have instant clock.

Mine too. I have tried resetting and changing the clock face as I read that can work but it's still black. Really disappointed

Exactly the same thing happened to me this morning. Tried several restarts and changing clock, it still doesn't work!

Had exactly the same issue. Was sent a replacement, which also did not work. AWFUL customer service and cannot find a complaints process anywhere.

I just got into Fitbit chat and they solved it. Plug in and press the button for 15 secs. It should vibrate mine did 7 short ones. Then press button again it then did a long vibrate followed by 3 short. Keep it plugged in and press the button again. At that point my screen was back. It didn't take long to get on live chat though if this doesn't work.

So is it hold for 15, then release; hold for 15 then release, then hit button the 3rd time????

Well, I'm in the same boat as @Cathjsm. I got through to customer service via live chat, but they did not suggest anything I hadn't already tried. Resetting by holding for 8 seconds, choosing a new clock face, resetting by holding for 15 seconds... I had tried it all many times and they gave no additional help. Just a 25% discount code with a 30 day expiration. I'm on the fence about buying one again.
