The screen on my fitbit charge 3 is partly faded. It is fully charged and just started fading. Can anyone help?

Hello @Abitfit72, thanks for getting back and letting me know that you already received your replacement.

Please try charging your Charge 3 for at least 1 and then restart it by following these steps. If the restart doesn't work and the display is still not turning on even after the recommended steps. Please take a look at the help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Once the tracker is turn on, set it up by following the steps below:

1. Remove your old Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings on your phone.

2.Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.

3. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.

4. Setup your Charge 3.

Let me know if you need further assistance, I'll be around.

Hi there @Abitfit72, welcome on board. Thanks for making sure that your Charge 3 is fully charged.

If your Charge 3 display is fading, I'd recommend restarting your device by following the steps below:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Give this a shot and let us know the outcome.

I now have a new fitbit but I cant get that to charge. It doesn't vibrate when I connect to the charger. I have tested the socket in others but no change. I have swapped it with my old one and can feel the vibration on that one. Please help!

My screen also started fading just after one year. I contacted Fitbit support center. This is the response I got - Same problem as yours

Response from Fit Bit on 26-MAR2020

After checking in our system, we are able to see that the warranty of your Charge 3 started back on February 12th 2019 and ended on February 12th 2020. Although this isn’t eligible for replacement since the warranty is already expired, we want to keep you in the Fitbit family and working toward your goals. Please accept a discount toward the purchase of any one of the devices on fitbit.com

My request to the public :

Fitbit sold defective product and offering 25% discount after the warranty. Shame on Fitbit company. If you search in the google so many people gave a complaint that the screen has problem, so Fitbit know that the product has defect instead of fixing the defect they are selling defective product to the customer and after one-year Fitbit offering 25% discount. I am not going to buy their products any more.

Shame on Fitbit selling the defect products to the customer.  My request to the public please do not buy their products. You will suffer one day. Please convey to your friends and family members not to buy Fitbit products.

Hi, I have the same issue

I wear it every day, for every run, every hike, every workout. But it's been a pain recently I cannot see the screen settings while want to set as a new run. I then come back did exactly what you asked reset. Same problem. I looked deeper , dome fonts are brighter than other letters , numbers display.

Is it normal? Same frustration as others that I no longer know the stats of running

I'm having the same issue.  This fitbit is already a replacement because my first one randomly stopped syncing with my phone.  Now I can barely read the screen.  I've tried re-starting and it's fully charged.  I tried to take a picture and you can't even tell it's on.  It's getting worse by the day. & I can't get notifications from my phone - I'm opted in.

Hello!

I have a faded face to my Charge 3 as well. I have tried the four steps listed here as well as the other suggestion to hold side button for 8 counts after full charge. I have not had my device in water, and keep it wiped down. I have had difficulty reading the face of the device for a month.

Thank you in advance.

hi

my screen started to go dark about a month ago. I couldn’t see screen outside in daylight. Now I have I light streak down the middle of my screen and find it hard to swipe to other screens. Have restarted it several times using both methods suggested with no change. it charges fine. Don’t know how to attach a photo.

I am having the same issue!! First it faded, and I couldn't see it outside at all. Now, almost completely gonefitbit082020BIMG_6376.pngFitbit082020IMG_6372.png even when I am inside with better lighting. I changed the font and brightness...no help!

I found out today mine is still in warranty (just) so can get a replacement. Contact help.fitbit.com and go online chat. They suggest resetting but I had tried both ways of resetting with no luck.

Good luck. Let me know how you get on.
