I'm really frustrated with my Charge 3. I've had for a long time and long the functionality of it but I can hardly see the screen anymore. I know how to change the screen setting from normal to auto to dim and that's not the problem. I've tried restarting it but no luck. Any other suggestions?

Hi there, @djcpsufan. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 3 before reaching out.
Please restart your Charge 3 as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? If the restart doesn't work, as @Odyssey13 has suggested, try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Hi @djcpsufan the only other thing to try is a new clock face. Other than that, there's nothing more you can do. These screens do fade over time.

I and many others have experienced this problem of the Charge 3 display becoming overly dim, even when the display brightness is set to normal. (It's completely illegible when the brightness is set to dim!)
I am not convinced an OLED display becomes dimer with age, although it might be due to a slow decline in the battery voltage and failure to regulate it to the display. Others point to this being coincidental with the semi-recent firmware update.
Nevertheless, I have tried the suggestion of changing to a different clock face and found those with a bolder font provide a small improvement. After trying several I've settled on the "Steps Date" clock face.

I did both of these, but they didn't fix the problem.

I finally gave up and bought a Charge 5! My Charge 3 display had faded to the point where I could barely read it in the dark and it was impossible to see in the day. The Charge 5 is considerably better with a vivid bright display. I hope it lasts longer than the 2yrs I had the Charge 3 for. (Or else I'll be off to Garmin.)

Having the same issue. It's now faded to black screen. Tried restarting with power cord, try changing clock face. Nothing.
It's still working as the app is still syncing, showing the watch charge as 87%. The app still shows the steps, sleep, etc.. but the watch itself is a black screen.
Wish this wasn't an issue, but if I can't find a solution, I don't think I'm my next watch is going to be a fitbit. This is actually my third charge 3 watch. The first two bricked within a couple of months of delivery. This one at least lasted a few years..
