Hi!
My charge 3 has been getting more and more dim since the beginning of summer. I can no longer read it in normal lighting. I tried the long restart to see if that made a difference, which it did not.
My device is almost 2 years old. Has it already run its course? I've been reading other posts and it looks like I'm not the only one with this issue.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hi @Lyssief, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 3 is too dim and hard to read. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.
Please try a regular restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps that are listed in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome.

Here, same problem meaning that the charge 3 is too dim to read. I've done the reset as described in the link, changed the clockface and no result. What's the solution?

Thank you for providing these troubleshooting steps. (It was really difficult to do a device reboot by the way when the screen is too dim to see...). But, I got it to reboot! No change in the brightness.
I then changed the clock face, again no success. When I have the indoor lights dim or off I am noticing that the top of my screen and the bottom of my screen are brighter than the middle. Again, do you think my fitbit has just run its course? It is a little less than 2 years old.
Here is a photo in a normal setting:
You can barely tell that it is 11:2?. The date should also show under the time and my steps should be visible near the bottom.
Thanks again for looking into this issue for me. I love my fitbit and have never had any problems.

I have the exact same problem and none of the solutions suggested work.

None of these solutions help! Those of us with this problem, and there seem to be many, keep getting the same answers. I have tried everything suggested, nothing helps!

Hello, I just fixed the dim screen problem on my Fitbit Charge 3 today after using the charger to reboot without any improvement .
1. Swipe up on the Charge 3.
2. Tap Screen Wake. It should light up.
3. Return to main display.
If you can’t find Screen Wake after trying to charge or reboot, try this solution first:
1. Swipe Left, tapping Settings.
2. Select Brightness>Auto.
3. Your screen should be brighter indoors and readable outside in the shade.

Thank you for these suggestions. I adjusted my screen wake with no success on the brightness.
I also tried the 3 different levels of brightness. Auto and normal look the same, barely readable, dim makes it so that I cannot read the screen at all.
I'm still mostly concerned about how the brightness seems to vary on mine from the top to middle to bottom of the screen.

I have exactly the same problem. I went on line to find out if there any fixes and have tried all of the options. This is very frustrating especially as I had just gone to the trouble of buying a genuine replacement bracelet (because I trusted the brand). This appears to be more than a one off random error.

I can't see anything enough to do any of these things..
