My Charge 3 screen is excessively dim, even with a full charge. I've tried restarting it with no result. It will occasionally come on bright but after a few seconds it's dim again and I can't get it back. This is indoors and is still difficult to read. Outside with any amount of sunlight, it's impossible to read.

For months my Fitbit has been too dim to read. At first I thought it was because I wear prescription polarized sunglasses often or that my regular glasses needed a stronger prescription or that I needed to adjust the brightness settings. After finally sitting down to troubleshoot it it was obvious the problem was with the watch itself. I called support and after an hour on the phone thankfully I was able to get them to send me a replacement. Comparing my old Charge 3 to the new one I am shocked at the difference in screen brightness. I can’t believe Fitbit is not recalling and replacing everyone’s watch that has this issue. Clearly this is impacting many many users. https://imgur.com/cDqqetU
note: new watch looks bigger because it has the band. When they sent a replacement it was just the watch itself.

I cannot believe that Fitbit refuses make this right with all the people that it effects. I guess they have more customers than they need.

I’ve only had it for a few hours but I did update the firmware to the latest version and it’s 🤞still really bright. Seeing how bright the new one is I’m absolutely shocked at how dim/hard to see my Old one was. Even on the “dim” setting it’s still brighter than the old one. To get my replacement I was on the phone for an hour and escalated to a manager. Do not use the Chat support because if they give you an offer/coupon for a discount on a replacement then that closes your case and supposedly the phone reps can’t override. So definitely call instead.

Just out of curiosity, if the Charge 3 was released in October 2018, how is yours 2 years old?

Mine is toast also.
Only way I knew it was working was because I could feel it vibrate. Can only read it inside when it is set to normal.

Mine went from dim to know display and this is the second Charge3 I have had in less than one year. The first device froze within four months. Replacement sent and lasted about 5 months screen developed lines and then went black this am. It is still tracking but I can’t set workout activity. It never picks up my workout activity after 10 minutes either, ever! I am deeply disappointed in this product. For the cost it should not behave this way on two separate devices. What gives here?

It’s my understanding if they replace your Fitbit under warranty, the replacement is also under warranty. You should definitely call the support number to complain!
