My Charge 3 screen is excessively dim, even with a full charge. I've tried restarting it with no result. It will occasionally come on bright but after a few seconds it's dim again and I can't get it back. This is indoors and is still difficult to read. Outside with any amount of sunlight, it's impossible to read.

Whilst I have got a working Charge 3 (after a few replacements) I also bought an Honor Band 4. This was more to see what the lower end of the market has to offer than as a Charge 3 replacement. It was $25.
I must say I'm impressed but they are different beasts. The Band 4 tracks all of the activities I need, but it'll only do steps, sleep and heart rate automatically, the other activities have to be started manually. No big deal. Steps and heart rate seem spot on (accuracy within two steps over a mile walking). It'll pair easily to a phone and shows notifications (texts, etc). But the display, it's big, colorful, and bright. Battery life is up to twice the Charge 3. Styling is plasticky!
To sum up, I'd rather use the Charge 3 - if it keeps working.

I’ve tried every setting. Or all seems to be the brightest but completely invisible outside. Can’t even check the time let alone steps.

This happens on the Versa too and I finally found the option to Schedule Sleep Mode and the customize setting to change the times it is dimmed...but, I am not able to change the Screen Wake from Manual as this is greyed out but it will start working later on in the morning to where I can see it if I raise my arm. If anyone knows why this is happening, I'd like to know...it should not be this difficult to fix and I have looked at all the setting I can find on tis watch.

I also discovered that the Sleep Mode needs to be set to off for some of the other settings to work correctly. You can Use the customize Sleep to define a time for it to go dim...hope this helps.

My Charge 3 is out of warranty also. I bought this 2 years ago. They refuse to fix it or offer a replacement. It's kind of sad because I bought extra chargers and bands. They just offered discount coupon. I'm currently shopping for another option.

I understand that. I won’t be making the same mistake again. It’s weird - I live in Australia with lots of sun and I can’t read my watch as it’s too light outside.

I tried changing the sleep mode
but no luck I’m afraid. The only thing it does is makes the room light up at night when I move my arm but is still blacked out whenever I go outside.

I've set the brightness to all settings trying to get brighter - but it hasn't worked. At the brightest setting I still can't see outside with my sunglasses on. Seems to be getting worse. I've had the watch 8 months.

Tried resetting, I’ve tried reloading. My screen is completely black.
