Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @chrissymc81.

I am sorry to hear you can't turn on the screen wake option on your Charge 3. Thanks for trying to resolve this and I am here to help. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Try to turn on the screen wake: Press and hold the button and swipe up, then tap Screen Wake.

For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

I am having the same issues. And I have tried all the steps. The screen does not come on. If I place it on the charger it comes on, as soon as I take it off it goes grey.

Make sure your DND (do not disturb setting is off). On my charge 4 it is above the screen wake setting.

Here are some easy troubleshooting steps to try on your Fitbit device. Try each troubleshooting step in the order presented here.

Clean the Fitbit. If your Fitbit has been in storage for a while or subjected to a lot of dust, dirt, or grime, the charging contacts on the underside of the device might be too dirty to charge, preventing the device from turning on. Make sure to clean the Fitbit's charging contacts as well as the pins on the charging cable.

Cleaning the Fitbit's band may not help the device charge, but it will keep it looking like new.

Fully charge the Fitbit. Charge the Fitbit for a minimum of three hours before using it. Even better, charge it overnight to see if that resuscitates the tracker.

Make sure the Fitbit charges correctly. Your Fitbit might not be getting enough power to charge its battery. Plug the Fitbit's charger into an AC wall adapter and ensure the computer stays awake for several hours while the Fitbit charges.

Restart the Fitbit. Like any piece of tech that misbehaves, restarting your Fitbit might clear up any glitches and get the device back up and running.

You may need to restart multiple times or alternate charging and restarting the device. Fitbit might need a restart to get to a point where it can accept a charge, but it might not yet be recovered enough to turn on.

Perform a factory reset of the Fitbit. If you restart and charge your Fitbit three times and it doesn't respond, reset the Fitbit back to its like-new factory conditions.

Contact Fitbit customer support. If these troubleshooting steps don't work, there may be a hardware problem with your Fitbit. Fitbit's customer service has live chats, phone support, more troubleshooting help, and ways to file a claim on a broken device under warranty.

This may help you,
