Charge 3 screen went black

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Screen been totally black for weeks. Still registers on the app but cannot see time settings etc. Tried plug in restart but a few vibrations but nothing happens

Been replaced before for same issue. Are all fitbits the same or would I be better off with a different model

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @RayNeal. I´m sorry to hear about your Charge 3 screen and thank you for letting us know that you have already restarted your tracker and that your tracker has been replaced before for the same issue.

Please confirm that you have already tried the long restart and changing your Charge 3 clock face

Tried both. Long restart i get the two vibrations but nothing else happens. No screen indications or reboot etc. I can change the clock face on the app but get nothing visible on the charge 3

I have the exact same issue. Nothing shows up on the screen after rebotting. I feel the vibrations but no battery icon shows up. It still tracts my activity and battery is fully charged.

Have either of you tried contacting Support (link is at the bottom of the page) and asking for a Battery Test?

I don’t see it, either, and I’m having the same problem. Is it called ‘Support’? What’s the exact wording?

This is my second Fitbit that's done this in 4 years. First was the surge.  My charge 3 has now gone so dim it's barely readable or it's just straight blank.  I've had 2 friends also with charge 3s that only lasted 1.5-2 years before the issues started. I brought mine just under 2 years ago.

think this will be my last one.  I can't see any evidence they last any longer before having issues or completely crapping out,

I’m the same and won’t be buying again.
To be fair they have replaced faulty ones but it seems a continuous issue
with them; mine and my wife’s have both had issues

Yes, it's called "Support".

I am having exactly the same issue. This is the 5th one in 3 years to have an issue with the screen. My last replacement was in Jan 2022. You can't email fitbit support anymore either. I think this is totally ridiculous and I am now thinking of moving away from fitbit after 6 years to find a better smartwatch tracker 😢

Not true: support@fitbit.com

I emailed fitbit support and got a reply from the saying email support not available....

I have contacted them through the live chat and even though I only got this replacement in January 2022 apparently it is out of warranty. Looks like I will be shopping elsewhere for a new smartwatch which is a shame as I do like fitbit..

I contacted fitbit on their support phone number and they are going to sort

Me, too.  Restarts don't help.  Guide/direction says to use watch screen to change brightness, but I can't if the screen is black!

I'm the same. This was my third one in 2 years all went the same way, black screen. Now I'm told it's out of warranty as warranty is counted from original purchase not from most recent replacement.

I have spoken to fitbit and as I am now out of warranty they can’t replace
but have offered me 35%off a new fitbit

To reboot, first put the device on charging, and then press and hold the button on the left of the screen for about 8 seconds. The device is ready for use when you see a smiley icon and the tracker vibrates. Another workaround to fix the black screen issue is to change the clock face in the Fitbit app
