Charge 3 screen went blank

Got this yesterday and the screen is already black and won’t turn on. Very very disappointed, looks like it’s a common issue. I’d rethink getting this, a shame it’s so common for the anticipation of this...

Put on charger and pressed the button. Reset and worked. Excellent community tip.

You can call fitbit and they will mail you a new one. Or you can cut your losses and get a different watch altogether. The charge 3 is the worst I’ve had, and I’ve been using fitbit watches since they came out.

Good choice. Mine was broken. They replaced it.

My FitBit is black. It was on the charger all night and is still black. I have pressed the side button and nothing happens. What do I do?

Plug it in and then push the button for at least 8 seconds.

If you did the 8 second hold (while it’s in the charger) and nothing happened, try charging it again. It is difficult to seat correctly in the charger and therefore sometimes doesn’t charge. If this doesn’t work, look into getting a replacement (from the store or fitbit itself). Some of the charge 3’s are truly broken and fitbit bandying about this all-in-fix is bs.

How do you pres the sides of its in the charging cradle?

The edge of the fitbit charge 3 will still be exposed when charging. Just
press and hold down for approximately 8 seconds until you see the smiley
face that indicates that the device restarted.

My charge 3 hung on notifications screen then went black.  I could feel if responding when pressing the button but screen stayed black.  From the app on my android i tried sending a different clockface down to it and bingo....it came back to life.  Might be worth a try for others experiencing this hang.

Mine still won’t display. It syncs to my phone but display is black. I can’t get it to restart.

What should I do if I removed the Charge 3 from the Fitbit app? I cannot change the clock and I cannot pair it if the screen is blank.

Hi Jogger, I was lucky as I bought mine from a local store. I took it back in after trying various tips suggested on here, that did not work. I explained the problem and they replaced it as well as giving me a new two year guarantee.

My screen went blank too... I took it off and charged it for about 30 min (it was only down to 80 percent bat). Now it vibrates when I push the button but it doesn't light up. Tried restarting again, it vibrates but well after 8 seconds and it didn't restart. Really bummed out!!

Call fitbit, the company. Explain. Get them to send you a new one. A higher percentage of these are completely defective than they are letting on. Save the band, though, as fitbit will only send the digital part.

Did you try changing the clock gave from your phone app? That has worked for someSent via the Samsung Galaxy S®6 active, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone
