Charge 3 screen went blank

Got this yesterday and the screen is already black and won’t turn on. Very very disappointed, looks like it’s a common issue. I’d rethink getting this, a shame it’s so common for the anticipation of this...

Love this charge 3. Read reviews before I purchased it. Well, have had it for 3 months. No problems whatsoever. Screen went black today. Still got vibration notifications. Still syncs with phone. Got home plugged in, did the 8 second hold. Nothing. Went to apps and changed the clock face. Got the screen back! Don't know what the glitch is, I hope fitbit fixes it permanently. It's nice to know there is a way to get the screen back. Still loving it better than any tracker I've had.

My charge 3 had the same issue about 15 mins ago. I have tried everything listed on this thread and the unit is still unresponsive. Whilst in the charger i get not visual indications and if i press the button i get 1 then another vibration then after about 3 secs i get 1 more vibration. It will not reset and the change if clockface has no affect. It is almost a weekly event having* to reset this thing. Not happy.

Have you gone on their chat line ? I did and they reset it for me

Happy you had such a positive experience. Maybe I will try again.  For now have given up on the glitchy thing and gone back to 2.

That is exactly what I did and when the face synced the screen came back on.

Welcome on board @Pamline, it's great to have a new member around! I'd recommend to restart your Charge 3 by following these steps.

 

If the restart does not work, but your Charge 3 is still syncing or vibrating I'd recommend changing the clock face to a different to see if this brings back the display. Steps can be found at How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

I've done the reset twice now and I'm blank/black screen again.

I got mine to come back on once but as soon as I sinked it up to my phone it went black again. I worked for a day in a half with Fitbit tech people that couldn’t figure it out. They are sending me a new one. Luckily it was under a year old and still under warranty.

Well I've tried to reset it several times  I get the smiley face and then right back to the blank screen! Help!!!

Welcome on board @Mommyd21199! Thanks for taking the time to restart your Charge 3. Since the restart did not work, I'd recommend what @mbee335 has suggested. Changing the clock face to a different by following the steps at How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

This just happened to me today. Have only had it a few months but I'll have to wait to get homehbefore trying the plug in solution, the clock face change did not work. This is very frustrating considering the cost of this Fitbit. Just wanted to know the time. I know it's at 92,% because I just charged it earlier today. Still vibrates when I receive notifications and syncs but that is all.

Mine has gone blank again whilst away from home. I have tried numerous different USB sockets to do the 8 second reset but to no avail. It still collects data and still syncs to my i phone but its just a useless blank screen on my wrist. When will fitbit sort this pile of crap!

Hi Jogger,
Same with me. All but fully charged, but black screen, whatever I tried.
Vibration happening but could not see anything. As it was only a few weeks
old took it back to the store where I had bought it and they were very
helpful and gave me a new one.
