Charge 3 screen went blank

Got this yesterday and the screen is already black and won’t turn on. Very very disappointed, looks like it’s a common issue. I’d rethink getting this, a shame it’s so common for the anticipation of this...

I finally called Fitbit and now they say the LED burned out on mine. They
did send me a coupon for 25 percent off
Just dont know if I want to buy a 3rd Fitbit.

On the fit bit app I tapped on my picture then I scrolled down to customer
support and got the number from there. If you can't find it let me know and
I will get it for you

My screen went blank between last night and today, but is still responsive to the side button. I tried to perform the hard reset several times, but the smiley face never shows. I also tried changing the clock faces a couple of times with no success. It still appears to be synching, but not showing the details.

That is exactly what mine did. I called and they said the LED light burned
out. They sent me a coupon for 25 percent off a new one. I think it stinks
that everybody has had the same thing at the same time. I think I am
probably through with Fitbit

I have considered replacing mine but since it lasted less than 2 years and
this was my 3rd fitbit I think I might check out another brand and see if
it last longer. It seems odd to me that so many people had the exact same
problem and Fitbit didn't acknowledge it. This just seems lame to blame the
problem on the age of the product when even people with brand new ones are
posting the same thing.

Isn’t it time that this issue with blank screen was permanently fixed? My charge 3 screen goes blank at least twice a month. Having to go to the app and change screens is annoying and very inconvenient. Please fix this issue.

go to the app, select clock faces. Change faces from the one your using and select it. Wait for it to upload then check your charge 3. It should work now and you can change back to your original clock face if you wish.

My Screen goes black often and it's getting worse. Very disappointing.

Have the inspire HR. Took it off In morning and went to put it on to sync and the screen was blank, pressed side button would not come on. Tried to remember if I had gotten it wet. I did start washing my hands and used wet hand to undo band. Praying I didn’t get it wet, water on the sensor? and not realize it. Googled the problem, found forum, .. connected it to charger, held down button for recommended 8 seconds... nothing yet- kept holding it down longer... like 20 maybe? Then the smiley face Appeared for a second and display came back on. It’s working fine now. First time this has happened. Just got this in February. Didn’t have to change the display- I choose the one that has all readings visible and kept it on that face the whole time. 
wish I could make the screen brighter.

Agreed! Extremely disappointing and was offered 25% off of the Charge 3 to
replace it. I feel more should have been done given Fitbit has been aware
of the issue with the screen since its release.

my screen went blank, vibrate, light goes on on back. What?

Hello @MarreFitbit a problem started with my Fitbit device a couple of days ago: screen went blank, it stopped syncing, and the only thing it does is vibrate when I press the button to the left of the screen. I tried charging and doing hard resets; the only thing this did was made the device go off and on with the smiley face. Now, all I have is a blank screen with a straight white line across it. It's not syncing so I can't even try the change clock method.

 

Please help out asap - I've used fitbit to track my workout progress for the last 15 months or so. I don't expect the device to suddenly pack up in less than 2 years.

Fitbit declared my device dead. So sadly it looks like this particular
Fitbit has a short lifespan in comparison to their other models. I wish I
had a better answer for you. 😢

I dont have it any more never worked again and would never purchase another mine went out 3 different times charge3  aren't any good to me sorry i couldn't help

My Charge 3 went completely black yesterday.  It still syncs and records everything but I have no screen.  I tried the 8 seconds and no smiley face (cause its black).  I also tried the 15 second reset and that didn't work either. Nor did changing the clock.  I purchased it last May 2019 and they are telling me that I am out of my warranty and refuse to replace it.  Should I trash this or is there something else I can try so that I can fix it.  I will NEVER purchase another one.
